Okay so I was kind of iffy on where to post this, and it's kind of a parenting issue i'd say lol.
Tomorrow, Sunday, will be my 28th week and my husband deploys the middle of this month. We've talked about most everything, and the issue of the POA came up because I will have to enroll our daughter in DEERS.
Well he thought he'd make things easier on me, go by himself, and get it done. Which in all reality, thank you, lol, but I wasn't there to ask the questions I would've liked to of.
So here is my question, to enroll our daughter in DEERS come October/November is a General POA enough? Or should it have been specific for any reason. Thank you
Yup, I just had a general (well, a general "military", meaning issued by JAG) and they let me get by just fine. There's specific wording on mine about that sort of thing, so you could check yours for it, or you can send me a message if you want to compare wording.
You'll also need a copy of his orders. I ran into that with our first child 2 years ago. I thought the POA would be enough, but you have to have proof that he's deployed. Hope this helps.
That depends on the office - I didn't have to have any such thing (my husband wasn't deployed at the time). Anybody could call again to the DEERS office to verify what kind of info they want/need.
