I was in one of Gunny Busby's (then SSgt) first platoons....looking back they were good times, wish I could have remembered to enjoy them more!

I'm lucky enough to still be friends with two Marines I went to boot camp with (this is 7 years later) and to have been able to get together with two of my former Drill Instructors.

SSgt Center was my series GySgt when I was at boot a year ago. She was a black belt instructor and kicked ***! I love that woman!

Oh my gosh I had Sgt Kelton and Sgt Wilhoit in FRP. She was awesome, helped me pass my exits to get out of there. It just really sucked if you were a really nasty recruit, or if she didn't like you.

MarineGurl990,
I am not a Marine, however, I am a Hospital Corpsman. I have nothing but the absolute most respect for every Marine out there. That's why I love my job so much. You shouldn't join any branch just to prove someone wrong. Example: my mom don't think I can do it. You should join for you. Nobody else. If you think you can, and your heart is in it 110% and you are motivated, than hell yeah, go in and do your job. But don't do it to prove someone wrong. Best of luck to you.

SSgt Warren was my senior! I was the series right after yours! I think we had Carrington for the 1st part of training, only for a few weeks. SSgt Branch became the Company Chief DI for our series! How funny that we were back to back!!
