Hey Cpl,

I see you are in the Marine Corps Band, I am looking for a boot camp buddy of mine. He enlisted in the Marine Corps Band. Do you know a Daniel Sanchez, he should be playing the saxaphone. Don't know what rank he would be but he graduated in Dec 2006. any info would be appericiated.

Unfortunately, I'm not in the band. I'm in The Commandant's Own Drum & Bugle Corps. We are stationed at 8th & I and exist for recruiting/ceremonial purposes. There are a total of 12 field bands. They are stationed throughout the country and do a different job. Seeing as how your friend plays the sax he would be in one of those bands. (drum corps only has bugles and drums) Sorry that I can't be of more help but we hardly get the opportunity to interact with the field bands.

I posted this in the DI thread, but I wanted to bump this to the top so you could see it :-)

I'm in Yuma, it'd be nice to meet a fellow DI wannabe and I'd love to maybe do a feature story on females in the Commandant's Own.

If you read this before you leave, stop by the Public Affairs office and chat with me!

Public Affairs office is Bldg. 852

If you walk down the street Burger King is on in the direction of the Main Gate as if you are leaving base, PA is on the left hand side. It's parallel to the parade field.

I hope that makes sense. I'll make sure to give you some base guides and maps to take with you.

Hey Marine_Bugler just incase you don't wander into the wannabe Forum that often. There is a wannabe asking a few question about being a Marine Corps musicaian. Thought you could help Him.

Well, thanks to both of you!

Normally I do check it out but being on west coast tour is really time consuming! I don't get to be lazy and sit on my computer all day FrownFrownFrown haha. I'll check it out.

Phadzia,

With our schedule I'm finding it hard to make it to your office.

Think you could talk your chain into letting you take a field trip to the field? Wink

I've actually been out there twice to see you, but the first time you were actually marching and the second time you were practicing with your section.

I'll be taking photos and escorting media Saturday at the full dress rehearsal. I'll try to find you and chat for a while afterwards.

Sgt, it was great to see you at the dress rehearsal! I was eyeballing you throughout our performance because I thought I recognized you from your photo... good to know I wasn't going crazy! Hope you enjoyed the show - it was a little rough for us but the first one always is.

HollywoodMarine, I hope to see you at the Rose Bowl! Usually after that performance we get to fallout and mingle with the audience. Smile

GREAT JOB CORPORAL!!!!

I really enjoyed the performance yesterday. CWO? Dix gave my shop a bunch of posters of you guys. Mine was signed by a bunch of people, but I don't know if I have your signature or not. Either way, I watched for you and got some good pics I'll post in here whenever I can grap a free moment.

I also gave the assistant drill master a few discs of ALL the pics me and my Marines shot the whole time you all were here, so if you want a copy of them, get with him if you can. It's a mix of the SDP and the Drum and Bugle Corps.

I hope you have fun on the rest of the West Coast Tour (I'm so jealous...I knew I shoulda stuck with the trumpet after high school ;-)

HollywoodMarine... no sticker? I'm hurt Wink

Phadzia, thanks so much!! Of course my signature is on the poster! We have mandatory poster signing parties... no really... we do. Anyways, I would love for you to post some pics whenever you have time. Did you give the disc to the Ass. Drill Master in the drum and bugle corps or SDP? We both have one haha Smile Oh, we get that a lot, "DANG! I wish I still played *insert instrument here*" I guess we're all happy that we stuck it out and took the beatings for being nerds back then. ha!

Oh wow, I didn't know you both had drill masters. Well, I gave it to the SDP's Assit. Drill Master. I hope you'll be able to get the pics. My card reader at home is broken right now, and NMCI won't let me post pics. I'm working on getting a new card reader this month, so hopefully I'll be able to put the pics up soon!

Gosh! I'm so sorry for the LATE reply! We've been soooo friggin busy.

As far as VIP tickets...

I'm assuming you're referring to the blue seats in the very center?

Just give me the date, how many you need, and I'll see what I can do.

Smile
