Hey ladies, I need your help. I was recalled back into our beloved Corps last year. I chose to join a reserve unit voluntarily instead of taking the involuntary orders so I could stay close to home since I have two kids. Since last year I've lost 40lbs. I have 12 more to go to get within standards(yeah I had let myself go) because now that I'm back I want to stay. The problem is I'm stuck and I only have two months to do it in before my orders end. Any suggestions? I pt 4-5 times a week running at least 3 of those days. I don't care if it a fad diet whatever gets these last couple off so I can put in my reenlistment package and be done with it.
When I was at Keesler, I had a female on the weight control program who pt'd all the time but was still having a hard time losing a couple of pounds. She took hydroxycut and that helped her. If you do take that, make sure you read the directions and drink plenty of water. Or you could visit your local GNC and ask them for a supplement. Otherwise, I'd say to check out the wannabe forum cause I know there's threads about that. Just be careful, either way!
A friend of mine did that low carb diet. She lost a lot of weight in the first 3 weeks. Just because it is such a shock to your system that your body goes into hyperdrive and you lose it quick.
One of the biggest things you can do it cut out any and all sweets right now. You would not believe how many calories that cuts out right away. For example: Each 20 oz. soda is 150 calories per serving. There are two and a half servings per bottle, so that is 375 calories per bottle. If you just drink two sodas a day, you are already up to 750 calories.
Not saying that you do this, just using it as an example.
Yeah I don't drink soda at all and I don't eat sweets. Every once and a while a break down and have some sugarfree reece's cups. I eat all whole grain crap and I take Zantrex3. I think I will try to do the low carb.
Sorry to jump into the the Women Marines board, but I saw the post on weight loss, and thought i'd throw in my $.02.
please be careful with the fad diet pills.
these are not proven to do anything but raise your blood pressure. plus i have known folks (both male and female) who took them, lost the weight, stopped taking the pills, and promptly gained the weight back.
i would just do diet and exercise. you'll get there.
Sgt Shaw is right on about the sodas. they are high in calories and sodium. even the diet sodas are high in sodium. i'd stay away from them entirely if i were you. also, stay away from drinking any calories. fruit juice and sports drinks also.
drink only water. drink 6-8 glasses a day.
it sounds like you have a good PT routine already, but another good thing to do is to do a daily journal of what you eat and what kind of exercise you get. you don't have to count calories, but this still helps you to be accountable to yourself.
once again ,sorry to jump in. good luck with your weight loss. have a nice day ladies.

I would bump up your running too. Running only three days a week isn't very much.
You have 2 months to lose 12 pounds. That is reasonable and very doable. That's 1 1/2 pounds a week.
Congrats on going back in. I miss it so much. If not for my husband, I'd probably be back in. I had my package to go back in when I met him.
