I was told, "Military aircraft do not normally have VHF receivers. However, they do have UHF equipment and can receive and transmit on the Emergency Frequency of 243.0."

I was a METNAV (2E1X2) troop therefore, I am not too sure about the radio freqs. If I remember both Guard freqs, I believe 121.5 and 243.0 where covered. I think there was a difference between fighters and Cargo aircraft. If they don't have both, especially the guard freqs but once did. Or once had both and now don't please provide information on when, if security isn't an issue. I know it shouldn't be with guard freqs.

Thanks in advance

The cargo aircraft(C130) I work with have both UHF and VHF capabilities, but use VHF mostly as a backup, though they normally broadcast on both simultaneously.

As far as I know, all military aircraft have both and use both frequently.
