Hi,

I was hoping someone could shed some light on this. Why did the Soviets choose to use a recoilless weapon instead of a normal cannon? I guessed simplicity to maintain and very low cost, but that is weighing against enormous advantages in accuracy for a normally chambered round.

Any ideas?
