A friend of mine has develloped a fully autonomous mini helicopter. It weighs less than 15 kilos, fits in a family car and can take off, fly a GPS-determined pattern, come back and land without any pilot interference. Because of its size and silent operation, it can fly at about 1000 feet without being seen or heard, filming everything on the ground and sending the signal back to base. With a couple of surveillance heli's like that, why send actual pilots into the air to fly over enemy territory? Oh, by the way, my friend, Jan Verhagen, builds these heli's one by one himself and sells them for about 75.000 dollars. Can you beat that?
