I got to meet SO1 Goggins in New England. He was up here talking to some Seal pups (Contracted future SEALs waiting to go to Boot Camp then on to BUDs). I will admit that the guy is an animal but very arrogant and self centered. It was all about "I can do this. I can do that. You suck if you can't keep up with me. You suck. I guess the guy just rubbed me the wrong way.

I am Navy SEAL David Goggins. I'm sorry I hurt your feelings. My job there was to try and motivate. I'm not cocky, I'm not arrogant, and if you took it that way you must be one of those guys who are out of shape and take everything personal. I would love to know who you are, it's a shame you have to talk about me on line and can't talk directly to me. Feel free to email me anytime. I would love to talk to you off line you are the first person I've met to think of me in this way. A real man would face me face to face and discuss it.

Just to let everyone know I have met Mr. Goggins in New England and it was an absolute honor and pleasure to meet him. He was a positive influence on every one of us and his training recommendations were invaluable. Though not a motivational speaker, the intensity and passion in which he speaks is motivational and inspiring not negative as mentioned in another posting. I had the pleasure of getting one on one time with him and within thirty minutes he had my 1/4 mile times down by 12-15 seconds and my 1/2 mile down by over 30 seconds. David does know what he is talking about and he helped everyone who trained with him. We would love to have him back anytime.

I also meet David Goggins in New England. And he also help me with my training. From running to water training. He gave me his personal time, he didn't need to do that but he did. And I thank him for that. I feel because of him I have an advatange over anyone that goes to BUDs. Because I trained with SO1. He said it himself he's not a motivational speaker. But MAN was he motivating. Never any BS After his talks and his training. I could took on the world. Hoooyahh

Mr. Goggins: I've been reading your bios and found you on you tube running badwater. I've also seen your photo on crossfit. Can you share with me some of your workouts. I see you lift for a couple of hours everyday. Could you help me in detail of your resistance workouts. Thank you. Aaron Smith

I will testify to Gogggins character, his integrity and disposition may be the only thing that excells his mental endurance and physical abilities. David has always used his inteligence and physical prowess to protect and help motivate others to achieving more. I have never met a more stand up man then David Goggins. -William Dennis Brown Jr.-

I've known Dave for about 10 years and have had the pleasure to serve with him. Dave will help whoever he can....if you ask for help...he will do his best to help you...as long as you are willing. If you're not willing, don't bother speaking to him. He isn't self centered, just very focused. I'll admit...i've worked out with him quite a few times...and he's always pushed me...even when i wasn't at my best...but he has never talked trash to me about it....he just wants you to try as hard as you can...out

Goggins' accomplishments are unbelievable. The preparation he must put into a 100 mile race is unthinkable. He eats miles for breakfast!!

David - i just saw your cover shot on runners world and i was excited to find more about you. i saw that you would be running here in hawaii H.U.R.T and thought it would be a great idea to see if you were into making appearances at school assemblies. As I was getting to know more of your story i ran into a audio interview you did with "The competitors" radio show with bob babbitt and paul huddle feb/07 http://www.competitorradio.com/details.php?show=96. in that interview you made a slight reference to not wanting to appear to be gay. "I always looked at runners and cyclist as kinda like you know these guys are gay you know whatever I'm not gonna do this stuff this is weak..." You also say that after you began running that you discovered that you were the one that was kinda weak. David...It is hard for our organization to recommend you to our kids. We are going through a program that teaches our kids not to speak in negative terms of any person...whether gay/straight/women/race...etc...even your L Studio promo speaks of you making other navy seals look like girlscouts...anyway...you are becoming somewhat of a celebrity if not at least more in the public eye. these are things i think you might want to think about and be more aware of...good luck here in the islands as you run H.U.R.T |

I am a Marine Vet. I would love to meet David Goggins in person. He is the epitomy of badass in my opinion. I've been reading about him and watching some of his videos on youtube. Very inspirational man and a very good motivational speaker.

I have not served with with david but i have known him for a long time well before the races and military. and one thing is for sure this man is a good hearted person and has always had the attitude of a winner. that is not being cocky, or arrogant. some people have while others view it as the forementioned. i'm very proud of his accomplishments. makes me feel good to know that even at a young age i was surrounded by people who would do great things. we all want to do great things in life but very few of us follow through with our plans. david is doing great things with his life just like he said he would when we were kids. continue to shine sir we are all watching.

I cannot believe someone would talk to a frogman like that. David Goggins is a good man and a real man. I hope I can be half of what he is and make it through training. These guys fight to protect us and people feel they have the right to cheap shot him over the web. They just need to let go of their soft living lifestyles and wake the hell up. This country is great because of them.

I'm not enlisted, and have never met David Goggins, however, I am signed up for a 100 miler (my first) and have been training in Hawaii off and on for this race. I've paced a few at high altitude for 40+, so I'm not clueless. Anyhow, I have heard a lot of talk about this guy in the ultra running community, and never, have I heard a bad word. He has put himself out there not only to get the race done, a personal challenge for most just to finish, but has also helped motivate others along the way. I hear he has even finished, then gotten back on the trail to help a person or two out. Ultra runners are normally this way anyhow (puking on the side of the trail as they cheer you on), but he goes above and beyond. There is a time and place for everything, and he seems to know when some attitude's appropriate. He is a warrior. But he will extend a hand when need be. So, as my 12 year old son says "put on your big girl panties and deal with it...". Cheryl

My name is albert gonzalez,
I have never met David Goggins but am amazed by his feats and unbelievable dedication to his cause. Of course people love to criticize all those who are succesful and are in the public eye. I for one have been inspired and have begun training for a marathon and hopefully if I can find a swim spot a sprint triathlon and who knows one day an ultra. It's people like David, and Dean, and others who inspire many of us to believe we can perform beyond our limits. These guys remind us that we don't need celebrities and famous sport stars as role models for inspiration. All we have to do is look around and see that everyday citizens are are doing amazing things for amazing causes and they do it with passion and to possibly make a difference in someone's life. When I don't feel like working out I look up the videos of badwater and others and I am inspired by the average every day people out there testing themselves. I hope to one day line up next to David and shake his hand as we set off on a 100 or 135 miler. From a Jarhead to a Squid Semper Fi David and keep up the good work. Cpl. A.R.Gonzalez USMC 85-91 |
