OK…..this is a story and photo’s I have only shared with family and just a few select close friends and a UFO researcher for fear of being called a nut or crazy.

It’s got to do with a very strange sighting over West Germany while flying in a military aircraft (OV-10A Bronco). I had my pocket camera always with me and I just happened to have my camera in my hand, and also just by chance observed this object coming our way. Our course and its track would make it pass abit low and a few hundred yards out & under our wing tip. I usually would call out aircraft traffic around us incase the pilot hadn’t noticed it as OV-10A Bronco aircraft were not equipped with radar. I was staring at this object and thinking to myself, “what the hell can this object be.” So, called out traffic approaching at 1 o’clock low.

I got my camera ready and snapped a quick photo of it as it passed by . (See the 1st photo).
I then watched for a few seconds to see if the object had turned to get behind us but I lost view of it quickly. I then over the aircraft intercom asked my pilot if he had caught sight of the object the passed us on the wing in the opposite directing.

His reply shocked me. He replied, “Yes, and we won’t talk about it again”. So I did not bother to tell him I got a picture of it.

We continued our flight and the pilot would call my attention to castles and other stuff we were going to pass.

I’ve provided both photo’s to a friend years ago that is involve in UFO research and he does not know what the hell it is either.
It flew, but had no wings and engine visible to me. My photo is blurry I know. The camara focused on the aircrafts propeller spinner and not the UFO. Too bad.

One night an MP desk clerk in Hanau FRG was bored, so, to the amusement of the desk sergeant, the clerk typed up a fake radio log for the station involving a close encounter of the third kind.

According to the log, an MP patrol car out in the sticks mysteriously stopped, to include their handheld portable radios; all of the metallic items in the squad were drawn up towards the ceiling. After several moments, the actions stop and the car and radios started working again. The MP's called it in, and fighters from Ramstein AFB were scrambled.

The clerk did a convincing job, complete with an made-up Major from the USAF as point of contact at Ramstein.

Unfortunately that morning, CAPT W, the Station Commander, came in and picked up the wrong (fake) log , and was sitting in his office when he read the UFO encounter. The clerk realized the CAPT picked up the wrong log and ran down the hall and stopped the CAPT as he was dialling Ramstein to speak with the MAJ.

From then on the clerk found other things to do on Midnights. The only fake log that he was allowed to do from then on was the annual Santa sighting log.

At Grafenwoehr in 1981 our TC was looking through the .50 cal passive sight on the M60A3 and swore he saw a UFO.

He had also been smoking hash for quite some time before that, so it might have impaired him a touch.

The bowl patrol still lives. OMG, I haven't heard that for years. Coyote pass ranger. BTW there was a lot of weird sh%& flying around out there anyway.
