Hello, I am looking for some best / worst military food stories from any branch during World War II, deployed or stateside. Just a good food memory, or bad food memory. I am working on a book about military chow and would love to include your memories. The length can be from one or two lines to a paragraph or two.. or more. Any help would be appreciated.

Some memories have been sent to me by wives, or children that are relaying a story told to them in honor of their parent, so that is wonderful as well.

You can post replies here for everyone or feel free to email me at thedeckchef@hotmail.com

Thank you so much for your help, and your service to all of us. - Thanks - Kent

Well, I was reading a book about POWs, and it said that the American POWs did'nt have anywhere to 'go to the bathroom' on the trains... so they just did whatever they had to in their military hats. Then whenever they got food, they would put it in those same hats... scraping out the **** and feces they had put in there right out... horrible Frown
