I'm not sure if anyone will be able to help me, but I'm looking for information of U.S. soldiers stationed in Japan right after WWII. Did our soldiers help physically rebuild the buildings in the destroyed villages/cities? Did we have officers left in charge of smaller villages to rebuild, demilitarize, and democratize them? Would it be believable to say that we had soldiers stationed in MOST Japanese cities...even the very small villages?
