"100% DAVs holding a regular retiree ID card can fly Space A. Despite rumors to the contrary, 100 percent disabled veterans in possession of DD Form 1173 or DD Form 2765 (replaces the DD Form 1173) identification cards are NOT entitled to Space-A travel aboard DoD aircraft."
Hi coolgreany, thanks for the info. I have been trying to figure out the space A logic for years to no avail. So if I am 100% disabled and have a reg. ID card I can travel but not if I don't. That piece of paper is really important, ha. Reely
This is wrong I am a 100% distable Vet I raise my hand like everone else, I serve my country I was hurt during basic and still served..this was durning peace time, but should this matter, I was ready to die for my country none the less, so why should I be treated any diffrent??? A Vet is a VETno matter what!!
Vets can not fly Space-A and never have been able to do so. Retired can, but they are the lowest priority. Only those at 100% get a military ID, but Congress does not want to fund this program.
There is finite amount of money, and the view is that programs that help the most vets - Disability Compensation, Health Care and Education are the priority for funding and support.
There are many that served longer than you, were injured in war and if they did not retire on military disability do not get the benefit.
