Hey everyone, Im trying to get back home to visit my family nd i was wondering how space A works, and do i need to get a new passport? I have the one the mil issued me. I am in Germany right now and i know they do space A out of spangdahlem im just not sure how it all woks. Thanks!!
Well we have been here a month today, Im planning on going home next month. I miss my neice and dog like crazy so I have to get home to see them! My husbnd deploys in sep too so i will be going home then too but i wasnt sure if that mil passport i got would work or not. I wll be going to get one this week since they take like 6 weeks here. But about the space A, could i just go to the AMC terminal in spangdahlem and see if i can schedule a flight or is it you just sho up they day you want to leaveand pray there is an open flight? Im very confused about this.
no, you can't schedule a flight; it is space available. I would suggest you go over to the passenger terminal and speak with someone there and have them explain the procedure to you.
Good luck on going home. if you are by yourself you are Cat 5 and therefore you are bumped by tons of people ahead of you. With schools out there will be a lot of people trying to go home over summer. You will not be guaranteed a seat on any plane. You can sit there for days waiting to leave. If you can wait do it in September when the kids are back at school.
You will also need a Command Sponsored letter from his command stating that you are authorized to travel.
If you are gone longer than 30 days then his COLA (Cost of living allowance) will not continue at the rate it is at and be lower to w/o dependents.
Look at commercial tickets, there can be some excellent deals right now because of everything going on. In the end it is less stress on you and can be just as cheap.
