So each of the above has a Military Discount program that only amounts to like 5% or so.
Many people do NOT know that each also has a supplier discount of 15% that they qualify for via a Spouse or themselves.
The discount is usually applied in ADDITION to sales prices or promotions that are in effect at the time for new cars only. Basically, the Manufacturer cuts a check to the dealership so they really are not out any extra money.
Typically, the way the supplier discount qualification works is that the company you or your spouse works for has to conduct $50-100 Million in business with any of the above Auto Manufacturers. You should ask your HR department where you work for the discount and if they say they are not aware of it ask them to research it or call one of the above manufacturers and ask if you qualify or who the contact person is at your company.
Once you register in the program they will issue you a discount certificate or code that is good for up to one year to purchase a new vehicle. If you purchase a vehicle under the program, you can't sell it for 6 months after purchase.
I have used the program repeatedly and you can actually get close to 20-25% off MSRP in some cases during specific promotional periods when other sales promotions are running. It is not restricted to auto parts suppliers either and the program was available at EDS, IBM, AT&T, etc.
So ask your company or the Manufacturer, it is worth it.
Does anyone have any comments about the ENCS program or the newly released GM military discounts? I'm set up and saving towards a new car with ENCS but i want to know if anyone has advise for when I actually go to order the car.
ENCS(encs.com)=exchange new car sales. I just orderd a Jeep Patriot got 4300 or so off on rebate. 1.99 gas from chrysler 1.99 gas from aafes,500 cust loyality and 500 oif vet. they give you the rebate for the gas instead of the gas card like they do for chryslers 2.99 deal.
I do some web work for GM. If you're interested in learning about the Military Discount program (e.g. who is eligible, etc.), the site below has all the information. We also created a Facebook page, so if you want to talk with people who have used the discount, check out the Facebook link. Thanks!
