Wow 2 days into the playoffs and no thread for this. I'm disappointed.

Wings beat Boston in the Finals in 6 games.

GO WINGS! Repeat!!

Since the NHL went to VERSUS...they don't show playoff games on regular TV that often...they have lost a lot of fan base when they're the ONLY sport to make you pay extra to watch playoffs and most regular season games...if they were smart they'd make VERSUS a regular cable channel and they'd make more revenue in merchandising to a larger audience than they are getting from their limited VERSUS fan base...

Strat sends...

Game #1 of the Bruins/Canadians was very exciting and I was glad to see the Bruins pull it off. I think Game #2 is today so hopefully they can go to Montreal up two games to none.

Go Bruins!!!

You're absolutely right. NHL playoffs is buried in Versus yet college basketball takes over every channel in March. Mad

If Luongo continues to stand on his head, I don't see anyone beating Vancouver. Can't wait to see what happens tomorrow here. It's been forever since we've had playoff hockey in St. Louis.

When the NHL went on strike years ago, ESPN pulled the plug on them. But the finals are televised by NBC. Go DETROIT.

The Canadian fans are showing how low class they are. They boo during the entire national anthem and, of course, nothing is said. But if Americans were to boo their national anthem, there would be a UN sanction letter written.

Low class...

Having gone too Montreal to see many a game with the crew, I can understand them being a little upset with the US and how the US fans behaved / act on St Catherine's Street before and after the game. I'm afraid we don't travel well!

Dick, as long as we don't boo their national anthem... Don't want to stoop to that level.

As for not traveling well, I recall being in a bar in Italy during a World Cup match. The folks were cheering and everyone - even me - was having a good time. Then in came about seven Navy drunks. They were really obnoxious but, for some reason the crowd loved them (and me). For, as long as the squids were jerks, they were buying the bar's brews! Although my American friends could not speak Italian, I could. And I figure it was the least the guys could do to offset their behavior! And luckily for me, the squids didn't know the conversion rate! Big Grin

Funny seeing all those canadian fans wearing suits, sports coats and generally dressed to the nines and the Boston fans arriving in jeans, t shirts, pull overs and generally nursing a pretty good buzz from the pre game cerimonies at Rhonda's and the Super Sex?

Dick, one set of fans are coming from work to the game and the other set of fans are making the game a vacation.

Frown My Blues are all gone...swept away like the ice between periods. They were the 2nd hottest team the last half of the season...unfortunately, by finishing 6th, they played the hottest team. Lots of young talent to look forward to the next couple of years.

Oh well, Go Bruins

I was pretty upset that instead of showing the Stanley Cup Champion Wings game against the Blue Jackets VS decides to show the Cup loser Pens instead. This left me glued to the computer for score updates. And to top that off this Thursday they're doing the same thing again. The champs get no respect. I'd be suprised if the Pens make it past the second round but hey, the league and the refs are on their side.

It is all based on ratings and ratings bring money. Detroit is a lock for at least the Western Conference Final and, lets face it, have no "star" power. At least not the "star" power the Pens have in Malkin and Crosby. Even the Bruins games would be overlooked if they weren't playing Montreal.

The Pens is one of the best teams in the league. They also have some top stars. Wings are a one hit wonder. Most teams that go strong through the season choke in the playoffs. We will see what the wings will do. Pens are going strong. Go Pens!!!

The Pens are only going strong because they are playing a weak defensive team. If all the top seeds win, the Pens have to come to Boston and it will be one heck of a matchup!

It is going to be one heck of a match-up. I cant wait for it. I live in Maine so I can go see them play in Boston. I still think Pens will win that match-up, but it will be in overtime game 7.

WOW!!! What series have you been watching? It's not surprising though; a typical whine from a spoiled Red Wing fan. I only hope Hossa and Conklin choke like the mercenaries they are.

Meantime, in the Eastern Conference where the REAL hockey is played, it would be great to see the Penguins and Bruins face off for the championship. Bring back the rivalry from the 90's. I'll start by saying Ulf Sammuelson's hit on Cam Neely was and always will be clean. Razz
