UFC 100!

Who is going to be watching?

I am going to a friend’s home tonight for the show. We are buying a 22-pound lobsta for the festivities. We will be watching it on his 106 inch big screen!

Pat, it is a great television. I am selling the home and the television goes with the sale! He built a special entertainment room, about 1200 square feet.

Heck man, I'd tale a 65 inch! That must be nice.

So, you watching tonight?

Brock Solid – Lesnar TKOs Mir in Two in UFC 100 Main EventBy Thomas Gerbasi

LAS VEGAS,

July 11 – Brock Lesnar may not have made many fans in the Mandalay Bay Events Center Saturday night by stopping local hero Frank Mir in the second round of their long awaited UFC 100 rematch, but if there’s one thing clear, it’s that beating the UFC heavyweight champion is going to be a tall order for anyone in the division.

“He did a good job,” said Mir, who handed Lesnar his only pro loss in February of 2008. “He neutralized the standup, got me against the cage, and I guess I’ve got something to work on.”

40 seconds in, the two engaged, with Lesnar taking Mir to the mat. Lesnar stayed close and kept his cool, making sure he didn’t get overaggressive like he did in their first fight, which would allow Mir to take advantage and lock in a submission. The crowd didn’t care for Lesnar’s patient approach, but it was scoring points for the champion as he used his bulk to tire Mir while mixing in short but effective punches to the head and body. By the time the bell sounded, Mir’s face showed the scars of battle.

Lesnar dumped Mir on the mat early in round two, but the champion let him right back up. That almost looked to be a mistake as Mir scored with some good shots and almost caught Lesnar’s neck before they toppled to the canvas with the Minnesotan on top. And despite the chants of the crowd to stand up the fighters, Lesnar was consistently working, and after another series of huge ground strikes, Mir was left with nowhere to go, forcing referee Herb Dean to halt the bout at the 1:48 mark.

With the win, Lesnar improves to 4-1; Mir falls to 12-4.

I saw enough car accidents and people beating each other up in the past 40 years to suit me. Wink

The thing about the UFC fights that amuses me is how they can beat the living crap out of each other for however long the matches go, then when it's over, most, not all, show respect for each other shaking hands or hugging.

Can any say they've ever seen that after an NHL fight? Big Grin

Don, I know that I could punch someone in the face ten times and still sit down and have a beer with them when they got out of the hospital! Actually, I have been in fights where, when all was done, we shook hands and had a laugh... through the pain.

I view it as good sportsmanship as this is their living and rarely are they angry.

I cannot STAND Brock what so ever...and his actions after his win pretty much solidified everything I had felt previously about him. WHAT A TOOL and a disgrace to the UFC. Honestly, if you were to take away half his size he would be a mediocre fighter who only relies on his crappy hammer fists...which is the only way he knows how to finish a fight. I don't care if he is a champ...he is still a loser in my book and a total ******.

On a lighter note. GO GSP! That man is a complete animal in the ring. Classy inside AND out. That dude trains like nobody's business and
he is just and all around awesome representative for the UFC. Bravo GSP and Congrats!

Classy outside the ring MOST times. Not always. He has made some classless comments about opponents and then whined when he received a reciprocal classless comment. He is a good fighter and hard worker, though!
