Anyone catch the awessome game last night between BC and Harvard for the championship of the beanpot tournament. BC won in over time 6-5 in and outstanding up and down college hockey game. BC deserved the win as they dominated the overtime period with what looked like the freasher legs and a relentless attack in the offensive zone. Harvard resortted to dump and chase and didn't have but a few real chances to score in overtime.
Headman the puck,

Dick,

I shut it off in the second period. I guess I made a huge mistake. It is nice to see that Harvard made the title game this year. The Beanpot is always great for hockey excitement. It's too bad hockey fans outside of NE can't really catch it.

Hey Josh,

Still making the trip in from the west?
Yea, it was a great game an I believe the last 5 championship games have been decided in overtime . First two mondays in Febuary, two great games with all the fixings, cheerleaders, bands lots of college fans as well as the old and crusty and lots of hard hitting up and down hockey for the price of one game.

I've been to 15 or so beanpots and now watch them on the tube for comfort with the kids.

You been up north lately or over by Chelsea?

Be well,

Dick

Dick,

My wife is a graduate of BU and she gets emails about the tourney, unfortunately for me, the timing has been off. I would love to get to a few games before I get stationed outta here.

I haven't made it off the base due to my schedule. I am still trying to pop into Chelsea to say hi. I will get in touch with you when it looks good.

Northeastern looks good this year. They are a young fast team on the rise. I would say that in a few years, Northeast Hockey will dominate the polls.

In Hockey East success breeds success. As they get better more of the recruits will follow through on commitments to attend and play hockey there. A hot goalie makes all the difference. I don't get to many college games anymore. When I do I ussually go up to the tongas and catch UM Lowell playing one of there Hockey East opponenets.
Great venue for seeing a college game with the kids. There are as many cops as fans and I feel real safe with the kids there. Also while waiting to purchace tickets on a number of times people have come up and handed me 5-6 tickets for free. Lots of empty seats.

Must have been a shitty commute this morning from the west?

You moving on, huh?

Peace,
Dick

Tsongas arena is a great idea. Not too far for me either. When I lived in NH, I went to UNH games. Talk about a crazy atmosphere. That place was awesome!!

Actually I took leave today. I took one look out the window and then called the base and we had a two hour delay so I just decided to take a day.

I am not leaving yet, but I have been in Beantown for the majority of my young career and I am anticipating them sending me out of D1. I don't want to go, but I am sure I will.

How are things in your area today?

-Josh

Shitty down here in Chelsea with 3"inches of snow and now a steady downpour of rain on top of it.

My brother has had season tickets to UNH hockey for 20 years or more. They were the tickets to have before the AHL put a team in Manchester adn even with the AHL the Wildcats are a great show except for trying to get in and out of the arena. 10,000 people climbing the same stair way to get to the parking lot?

Time to slosh my way up the street for lunch.
Peace,
Dick
