What is the motivation behind A-Rod to come out not only the day the Red Sox are playing game four in the World Series but to come out in the middle of the game and to make an announcement that he will not return to the Yankees? To me this is unbelievable and totally classless by this man. As talented as he is with his fielding and power to hit to all parts of Fenway Field, I would not want him as a member of the Boston Red Sox.

I'll go one further. If the Red Sox are "stupid" enough to pick up A-Rod and not resign Lowell, I won't follow the Sox anymore. As great the player A-Rod is, he is a team Jonah. Roll Eyes

I'm happy A-Rod is leaving the Yankees he is getting too greedy, and he isn't worth a dime in the postseason either, Yankees is not a organization that you just sign to anyway it has history behind it countless great players have thrown on the pinstripes, so you don't join to not only play baseball but to be a Yankee, and you are also joining the greatest franchise in all sports. I hope Redsox is dumb enough to sign that crab, as a matter of fact I wouldn't even wish such a thing for them. I hope nobody signs him for all that money he is looking for , his regular season stats are always going to be sky-high but he can't play in the playoffs, I hope his only shot of being signed is with somebody like the San Francisco Giants or some other weak national league team.

Last night, there it was the 8th inning of what turned out to be the final game of the World Series and there was FOX spending half an inning talking about A-Rod. I was ticked! It showed no respect to the Red Sox and Rockies as it was their moment, not A-Rod's. Couldn't the news have waited until today?

I think the blame goes more to the agent, Boris, than on A-Rod. Obviously he was going after some free advertisement during the World Series.

I got to talk on the Boston radio station, WRKO, this morning and said that I don't understand this whole A-Rod vs Lowell thing anyway. A-Rod use to play shortstop, if anyone, he should replace Lugo or Cora but I don't want A-Rod on the Sox. He's not worth the money.

Don,

Are you sure you were not on WEEI, I still can not believe they pulled this off. Now all I am hearing is about Pats running up score as being classless. What Scott Boris and A-Rod did was the lowest move I have seen in a long time.

The Yankees- Red Sox rivalry is one of the greatest in sports and I feel the Yankees are a class organization. I agree with the earlier comments of letting him play elsewhere, maybe someplace like Milwaukee.

“Hey everyone watching the World Series… Look at ME! I am A-Rod! And I am leaving the Yankees!!! So, stop watching game four and look at me… A-ROD.”

The timing was childish but totally expected.

It was a very childish move, but you have to understand that he is fueled by greed and that stunt he pulled will draw attention to himself which can potentially equal more money.

Fox loves the Yankees and Tim McCarver loves the Yankees so they put the A-Rod announcement in the middle of a sweep by the BOSOX. No big deal, it proved that A-Rod is classless and Fox sucks. Neither are news flashes.

As far as the Patriots running up the score it seems everyone has a problem with it except the Redskins.

I gotta come to the defense of Gay Rod here. It isn't completely his fault. His 5hit bag of an agent is the one who prompted the timing of the announcement. Scott Boras is the one who leaked it to the media.

Every agent speaks for their client. If the agent says it, it’s just like the player saying it. No excuses… the rich brat needs to be paid twice as much as any other professional athlete. I hope the Sox keep Lowell and let A-hole go somewhere else. We need players that can hit in the playoffs! Big Grin

I really think that the agents feed the clients ego and take what the players says and twists it. Don't get me wrong here, I don't think Gay Rod is completely innocent in this whole thing.

My wife was watching the parade today and said that everyone was cheering "Keep Lowell". She also said that she saw a clip of Theo saying "We'll take care of it". Let's hope that they do. Lowell is the MVP of the World Series.
