Yup, I'm going. . . I'm going to buy a case of beer and head to my living room and watch it. If anyone has some free tickets I'd gladly take them off you hands, let you watch it in my living room and I'll head south to get in the mess of rocket fuel and rubber. Hope everyone enjoys the race and look out for the new #88, it his year. Go Dale!
With those ego's in that stable it will be interesting to see if the #88 AMP machine can cope as much as im going to miss the Bud car. With Jimmy winning the cups and gordon finishing 2nd i dont think Jeff is going to stay and put up with that mess. With Junior also breathing down his neck and out to prove DEI wrong. I think Hendricks has just messed up!
I hope the whole thing blows up in Hendricks face. All race fans know Jeff Gordon doesn't like playing second fiddle to anyone none the less a team mate, could even be two, if JR stop squinting and blinking long enough to open his eyes and win a few races. If that goes down it could be meltdown at Hendrick. Oh well Go Denny Go!
Looks like JR "stopped squinting and blinking long enough". Because he just put a hurting on the entire field at the shootout. Pretty coll how he dropped Mark Martin from the lead like he was a bad habit. Where was Denny again? Was he even in the race? I was there and didn't see him....oh wait yeah I did he was in the BACK.
Yeah, he opened his eyes long enough to win, a short race, we'll see through the rest of the year. Funny, Denny finished ninth. Hardly in the back (with a busted racecar I might add). Then again you are a Junior fan so it doesn't suprise me you can't count (after all DNF isn't a number) even though that's where Junior ended up at the end of a lot of races. I gotta tell you boys that number 8 looks a whole lot better on Mark Martins car. At least Bud picked a winner with Kasey Kahne someone capable of winning a race over a hundred laps. When was Juniors last win that mattered, oh yeah May of 2006. You should really wait until Junior wins something of consequence before you run your mouth, about drivers that win rac.es
Yeah ninth isn't exactly in the back but it sure as hell isn't at the front, which is where JR was all night. Did Denny even contend for the lead? ANYBODY can drive a busted race car, by the way he only had cosmetic damage which was fixed with a little tape, in a restrictor plate race. Yeah Budwieser picked a winner alright, how many did he win last year? Just remember that if it wasn't for JR introducing and recommending Hamlin to Joe Gibbs he wouldn't be where he is now. By the way JR has won things of consequence should I list them? 2 Busch Championships (back to back), The 2000 Winston, 2004 Daytona 500, many Talledega (5) and Daytona (11) wins. Until your driver actually proves himself and stops pissing off his teammates, maybe you should stop running your mouth.
First of all Kasey won just as many races last year as Junior, ZERO! Your brining up races that were almost a half decade ago! Pathetic, you know who else does that, Kyle petty! Juniors just another driver who lives off his daddies name. Within the next few years he'll be just like Kyle Petty and Mike Waltrip, worthless field fillers living off their daddies (or brothers in Mikes case) past glories. Talking about past victories that no one cares about anymore. Oh and your right anybody can drive a busted car but can they finish in the top half of the field, and moved up to third as the race was ending. In case you forgot Denny was 2006 rookie of the year, and made the chase in both of his first two seasons (when was the last time Junior made it), he might only be in his third year and can't be considered proven yet, but he's off to a pretty good start. As far as arguing with teamates you got me, but standby boss, it's coming to Hendrick.
Not being a NASCAR fan, I fail to see the fanaticism of the fans. I am not making fun of the fans because I have watched some races that keep you on the edge of your seat during the final few laps. But, here’s where I miss the boat. How can fans love one driver so much while hating other drivers tremendously? And I mean ‘love’ as the fans seem to love, live for and bleed for their favorite driver. They have stickers with the favorite driver’s number on their trucks. Some get tattoos of their favorite driver’s number (I hope they never change cars!) And when you hate a driver, that driver can do no good. I’ve seen stickers with a kids peeing on the number 8 numerous times
So, how does one become so fanatical about loving a driver and hating other drivers? Clue me in!
My first question to you disagreed is, have you been to a live race? If so which one? Alot of people trash NASCAR but have only seen it on TV which yes can get a bit boring. But once you see them in person with the sights, sounds and smell you dont get the full effect. I remeber when I was a teen I hated Golf. I hated everything about it. It was the most boring thing ever. But then I actually started playing and I can see where one would get hooked. Now I can watch a round of golf on TV.
To answer your other question, it is pretty easy. Do you watch NFL if so who is your favorite team? Myself I am a Benglas fan so I absolutely HATE the Steelers. It is the same in NASCAR. Every sunday your favorite team/driver is playing/racing every team in the league on one day. So if your team/driver is not doing well then you despise the rest of them. I dont't know if this makes any sense or not and maybe someone can help we word it a little diffrent.

The only driver I don't care for and that's about the level of it, I don't hate any drivers...is Tony Stewart. He acts like a bully or cry baby if anyone bumps him, yet he bumps everyone. Many say the same of Gordon.
33, yes, I have been to live races before. They were cool but I would rather be at a Patriot’s game at Foxboro! How does your favorite driver become your favorite drive? I guess that I am a Patriots fan because I was calved in Massachusetts. SO how does a guy become totally enthralled with another guy to the point where they would get that driver’s number tattooed on his skin forever? Don, I can see not liking a driver because they are bullies or they act like idiots when being interviewed. Dislike is easy for me to understand. But liking a driver and getting his number tattooed on one’s body? Of course, there is that idiot Pat’s fan that shaved his head and got tattoos that resemble a Pats helmet. So maybe I can see a little!
When I was down in the FL Keys, I got a call from a guy I went to high school with. I met him up in Homestead/Cutler Ridge and he introduced me to his boss, NASCAR driver Dick Trickle.
"Hu huh, hu huh....you said Dick Trickle..."
Anyway, Mr. Trickle asked if I was going to the race the next day? It was the opening of the Homestead Motor Speedway. I told him I promised to take my sons fishing. He told me to bring them along but I thanked him and said they'd probably want to fish.
After we walked away, my friend asked if I was crazy? "Do you realize that you could have been in the centerfield with your sons for free?" I guess I didn't really think it through. We enjoyed our fishing anyways.
I've always been a closet NASCAR fan and attended my first race last year at the Pepsi 400. Sat over by turn 4. All I can say is "awesome". As for why such drivers are hated, beats me.
Ryan Newman oh how awful. After all the excitement with JR, Stewart, Rowdy Bush and Burton at the end. What a garbage driver to win. A driver nobody cares about. It's just like finding out Santas not real, just so d@mn dissapointing.
