So who's got the advantage going into the World Series? Will it be the Red Sox who are firing on all cylinders after winning the ALCS in seven or the RED HOT Rockies who we have to wonder if that week off has given them time to cool?
I'll go with the Red Sox in six games. Get out the snow shovels!
I always root for the underdog in these situations so i guess i'll be rooting for the Rockies, even though I probably won't actually watch any of the series. Although if I were a Colorado pitcher i'd love nothing more than to throw at Manny Rimerez's head every time he came up to the plate.
It's probably a good thing the Sox won the ALCS what with that HGH controversey brewing with regard to that Cleveland pitcher.
I think Boston will take the first two at home, loose game three in CO and win the next two away. What would be sweet is if they won it in Fenway. I can deal without the drama though and would love to see a sweep but feel the Rockies are too good a team to pull that off.
It is a great time to be a Boston sports fan and the BC/VT game on Thursday will show us what the Eagles are really made of.
I am hoping Indy is undefeated in two weeks so we can have a showdown of the only two undefeated teams in the league.
I was really rooting for the Tribe. That would end the 2nd oldest WS drought in the majors and rub more salt into the wounds of the hapless cubbies. The BOSOX and CHISOX ended their streak already and my beloved Redbirds won last year, so this would have been a perfect year for the Tribe.
I guess the Rockies winning their first would be something of rub at the baby bears, but since I have almost as much Red Sox stuff as I do Cardinal stuff I'll root for them (with a secret leaning towards the Rockies).
AlthoughI have a feeling Matzusaka will get shelled in Colorado. And The Rockies have a good lineup so it will be tough. If you go off the last meeting these guys had this year in the Fens the outlook isn't good. But there's the Reg season and then there's the POSTseason. And I hope Manny (best 0-2 hitter in Basball goes yard 3-4 times this series. D-Ped and Youk are hot and if Manny, Papi, and Lowell can get going look out. Jacoby is nasty. Any teams lookin for a center fielder next year have a bowl of Cocoa Crisp.
Top of the 7th and the Sox look unstoppable. What has me more excited than tonights possible victory is the fact that they forced the Rockies into the bullpen early. That is big. The Rockies bullpen has been one of their strengths, so if the arms get tired, the Sox stand a better chance of winning it all.
I'm enjoying seeing J.D. Drew finally being productive. Maybe he'll do better up against the NL pitchers if he is more familiar with them.
The Sox need to keep it up in game 2 because we all know the Rockies will be plenty happy to go back to Colorado with the series tied 1-1. Hopefully Schilling will be in his usual post season form.
I am expecting another nice win this evening and by no means a blowout. If we can go into Coors Stadium and take one and come home to Boston up three games to two, I feel JP will be doing his Riverdance on the Fenway mound once again.
Remember, when the games move west, the Red Sox are at a serious disadvantage. They gotta play by National League rules which means no DH. So someone has to sit. Big Papi, Yuke or Lowell… someone must sit and instead of having that big bat in the lineup, we have the pitcher. And if Papi plays, the Sox to sit Yuke, who makes nearly NO errors. Why the hell do we play one game by two sets of rules? This gives the National League a huge advantage in the World Series. Fair? Life ain’t fair!

Dis, after giving this much thought, I would have to say that I disagree with you about the National League having an advantage in the World Series. The reason I came to this conclusion is because National League teams build a lineup of 8 strong hitters for the regular season, not the 9 that are required in the American League.
Let's look at the DH for the Rockies last night, he hit 299 with 11 HR's and 51 RBI's in 97 games as compared to the Red Sox DH who hit 332 with 35 HR's and 117 RBI's in 149 games. Of course there are always exceptions, but I believe that it is fair the way it is played.
I am not worried about having to sit down Ortiz, Yuke or Lowell tonight or the other games at Coors Stadium. I feel the two remaining players will do a great job and I hope it is Ortiz who sits out because the top of thelineup down to JD are hitting the ball well. I do have a fear of Dice K hitting Saturday evening and do not know what his experience level is with the bat in Japan.
We had no problem with the DH situation in 2004 and I realize the Rockies are a much better team than the Cards but I still think we will take two out of three there.
If it were up to me, I think I would sit Ortiz down and have him ready to come in later in the game. Give him a little break to let his knee stop hurting so much. Youk and Lowell are both excellent in the field and since both seem to be hitting well, I think you kind of have to go with them starting. Of course I know Ortiz is hitting well to but you have to sit someone.
As far as the DH issue, I don't see an advantage too much for the NL in Colorado. Both teams are playing the same rules in the same game so no big deal.
Ellsbury isn't exactly tearing it up at the plate but I still think he brings more to the offense than Coco.
