Anyone else think he is sittin back laughing his *** off about the Chargers this season? I do stick it to em coach! I actually have a little of love for the Chargers even though I am a Raider fan grew up in SD just think they did him wrong..
Even if Marty was to come back, his previous coaching staff has moved on. It might not be as easy for him...I've liked him as a Coach since the Chiefs. At least you know what you're getting with him...

Once Norv Turner takes the Chargers to a 14-2 season and you fire him for not agreeing with you then I will be able to come back. Oh wait to late 3 losses in 4 weeks sorry. I said GOOD DAY.
You know Marty's loving it. But now we're seeing what an overachieving team they were last year. They have a mediocre recieving corps and a mediocre secondary. Shut down LT and you can force Rivers to lose the game for you through the air....because the only real target he has is Gates. And you can throw on that secondary all day long if you've got a quality passing attack.
I'll bet any money the Chargers GM will be on the unemployment line at the end of the season.
I do find it amusing that they fired Marty for not being able to win in the playoffs and now it looks like Norv Turned can't even get close to the playoffs! Yes, I think Marty is having a little chuckle. He is such a professional that he would never rub it in though...
I know that nurv is not a good coach. But he is really that bad. So bad that he was taken the best running back in football, possibly one of the best ever and turned him into absolutley nothing?
I am in San Diego. I do not think that it's totally Nurv's fault. Last year at the start of the playoffs. The air around town was that of the Chargers had already won the supebowl. The whole town was pretty arrogant. I think the loss early in the playoffs really destroyed the teams confidence. Couple that with the firing of Marty, I think another huge blow to the chargers morale. The team itself itself was in shambles morale wise before Nurv even got there. It's just a theory but I think the chargers have lost thier drive in a sense. Maybe last weeks game will give them some ummph. Well have to see.
One of the reasons (publicly at least) for getting rid of Marty was because he couldn't win the big one. Well, at least he gets his teams to that position unlike Norv who has literally dismantled the chances for every team he has ever coached. Just ask Redskin fans.
There's one thing Marty has always lacked. A good quarterback. Take a look at some of the QB's he has had and still made the playoffs.
Norv was practically given a guaranteed AFC championship team. He needs to stick to doing what he does best- being a coordinator.
I don't for one second think last season's playoff loss destroyed their confidence. Just the opposite, they did a WHOLE lot of yapping early in the season, especially before the Pats game. I think they went into this season assuming they had their trip to Arizona reserved. Sometimes a true championship calibur team takes a loss like that and learns from it and actually applies the lesson. The Colts had to lose before they could win. The Steelers had to lose the AFC Championship before they could go back and win the following year.
But it looks like the Chargers are getting back on track after a serving of humble pie the first quarter of the season, although i don't consider them to be an elite team anymore. I think they'll be scraping for a wildcard slot.
I think the chargers win their division this year and make it to the 2nd round of the playoffs before they get bounced out by the pats or colts. the chargers are still a good team but they need to go out and get some recievers this offseason.
They just picked up Chris Chambers, which should be a significant upgrade since defenses can no longer afford to double Gates. He will add another dimension to the offense. good trade. Chambers wanted out of Miami, and SD desperately needed a quality wideout.
I really think this is a good trade for the Chargers. Now they have a legitimate threat at reciever besides gates. I just dont know what miami is doing. They trade wes welker to the pats for a 5th round pick, then let go of Dauntee Culpepper and now trade away their best WR. Maybe they are just going for the worste record so they get the #1 draft pick.
Yep, Miami is a total and complete clusterf*#k. They are definitely the worst team in football. And to think Trent Green actually wants to come back and play for them this year......he MUST be concussed.
I think they have the #1 overall pick locked up for next year. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them go 0-16. St. Louis will end up winning some games so they're no threat in that regard.
