Very nice! It is a beautiful thing when that velvet starts to appear.

I have a nice picture that we both will remember for a long time, but I can't figure out how to attach it...

Aaron,

You mean this one.

That is two days of my life that I will never forget. That is the best striper run I have ever had.

That looks like a big fish. Congrats on the biggun! Beer

One passing turkey showed up. I have been setting the cams up on the creek crossings. I should have a few more to post next week. If it rains hard I have to pull them ASAP though. They are set about foot off the water and this swamp bottom floods over.

Well Aaron, welcome aboard shipmate, how have you been? How much did that one weigh? Probably the largest I have seen.

Cam is out now, ill post what it comes up with.

His fish was like 51" and weighed I think 42 or 43 lb. I landed my 42" and 43" that same day and his made mine look like guppies. The funny part about the whole thing was when we weighed it in. Just the looks on everyone's faces was awesome an of course Aaron told them he caught it somewhere about 15 miles from the actual location. Brings back memories of an old fishin buddy. Here is his famous quote, "were did you catch that fish? Right here in the side of his mouth!"

Went walking around the property and down thru the woods at my new place today in Ohio. I came across several large deer tracks within 100 of the backyard!

.....its going to be a great season! I'll have to get a game cam and set it up to see what I have walking around!

Seth,

I don't know how big your place is but maybe consider putting out a mineral block to keep them around for a while. On the two I had out, even after the block is gone, the deer still come to the place where the blocks sat pawing at the ground. A few of those deer pics I'm getting are at the spot I had the mineral block.

I might check my cards this afternoon to see what new pics I got. If anything interesting I'll post them up.

John

First pic of the year. I had something raiding the feed every night, but the cam never caught anything. I lowered it assuming it was a critter. It was.

Interesting enough, I spooked a deer 10 yards behind the cam when I went back to check it. They dont appear interested in food at all, I assume because we have had alot of rain.

Go down to your local feed store and pic up some licks. Are you dumping the feed out or are you dispersing it through a feeder? Reason I ask is if sits on the ground too long it starts to ferment. If it does you can guarantee they won't touch it. Coons on the other hand enjoy getting a little tipsy. We had one as a kid come stumbling drunk into the front yard from eating fermented corn.

Here's brand new fawn crossing the creek. It might belong to the chunky doe a few posts above as it is on the same trail.

Nice pic of the little one and also the up front of the lil buck. Got a good story about a fawn. It was bow season in NC and I was heading to my stand about two hours before sunrise. On my 1 mile hike (maybe a little less, but in the morning it seems like forever) I hear a deer blowing at me. I began to cuss because I just knew I had spooked that buck. As I keep walking I stumble upon a fawn only days old. When I say stumble, I mean exactly that. I literally tripped on it. The mom was blowing erratically at me and I had so many bad thoughts running through my head. I could tie this fawn to a tree and get a two for one special, rump roast and veal parmesan all in one morning, great! Then my conscious caught up with me and I wasted the morning by throwing up my climber about 25 yards away just to see the mother come back and pick her up about 30 minutes later.

These are some great pics, keep them coming.

This property is about 10 minutes from the house. The owner has it subdivided but hasn't gotten any buyers yet although he said someone said they were interested. Personally I kind of hope he doesn't sell anything while I'm around, otherwise I won't be able to hunt it. There are a few deer on this place and I'm noticing more bucks then last year. I shot 5 on there last year with one shot being a two-fer. The cams are still out with my next scheduled pulling on the 15th. One of my other hunting sites is having a trailcam contest and the 15th is the last day to take pics.

Today, I got the mount of the buck that gored me last year. He was bigger than I thought! Nice long face… nice wide rack… fur turning gray because of his age… and he tasted great! Big Grin

Can’t wait for this year!!

Great shots guys! I have to ask as I've failed on a couple attempts, how do you post the pics here? I have some good ones from my trail cam as well as some nice fish pics to share.
