I have never posted on here before but I was wondering if anyone here fishes in South LA. I am stationed near New Orleans and I fish almost every weekend near Venice and was just trying to see where yall fish.
There's a place called the "Wagon Wheel" behind Venice that's the best. You can catch Bass on one of the boat and speckled trout on the other. Same bait. Ask anyone, they'll tell you where it is.
Best fishing I experienced was in Grand Isle off the dock and out on the edge of the pass to the West of the Turning Buoy. The best bait is half a crab on a line with a good leader on your line. You can catch Bull Reds and Jack Creval all day there. Jack Creval are great for fighting but a little too bloody for my taste. You could marinate them in milk for a day to get the blood out. Port Fourchon has some great fishing as well. You can get a great charter here Port Fourchon Charters if Gustav dosen't whipe it out again.
