The Red Sox announced yesterday that Jon Lester, 22, had been diagnosed with a rare form of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, a blood cancer, and will begin treatment in the coming week.

Tonight, Jon Lester threw a no-hitter against the Kansas City Royals, the 18th in Red Sox history. Nice job, Jon.

Good for Lester! Applause

How about Varitek, though!!!! He is the only catcher in MLB history to catch 4 no-hitters. That is huge considering the catchers are the ones who call the games. Way to go Varitek!! Applause

What a story of inspiration Lester is. Beating cancer, winning game 4 of the World Series last year, now throwing a no-hitter.

Great guy. Isn't he only 24? And last year Clay Buchholz throwing a no hitter at the age of 22 I think. Man, the years ahead look good for the Red Sox.
