Pats win their fourth SB in seven years and the Red Sox beat the Mets for their third World Series in five years.

I was watching ESPN and the "experts" were saying that the teams to beat in the NL are the Cubs ( Roll Eyes) and the Rockies. The teams to beat in the AL are the Tigers and the Indians. It should be a great year in baseball. There were a lot of great offseason moves.

I don't care what ESPN says you have got to throw the Bo Sox (as always), and the Mets into the mix.
Personally when the season shakes I don't care who's on top as long as the Yankees lose.

Go Rays, .500 this year boys (laugh if you want too, but at least give me credit for being a true fan for the worst team in baseball). Hey, at least I get seats on the left field fence for $8.00, gives me a chance to yell at fat @ss Man Ram.

I always consider the SOX to be in the WS hunt and I always root for the spankees to lose.

You can get standing room tickets at Fenway for $8 with a military ID. The only problem is that you have to get there around 2 maybe 2 1/2 hours before game time depending on who is playing. I just happen to be lucky enough to come across a ticket for the April 11th RED SOX vs. Spankee game. I have bleacher seats and will enjoy heckling whatever 5hitbags are playing in the outfield for the Spankees.

Stroke,
How do you feel about the Rays making a run at Bonds for this season?

To tell you the truth I dig the idea. Don't get me wrong I think Bonds is a real diznick just like everyone else, but his stick still has thunder left, he'd be great D.H.. At best without him we have Johnny Gomes when he's not playing in the outfield. More often than not we get some scrub off the bench with his massive 1.38 average, stepping up to take three good cuts and have a seat. I think this team with it's young, talented starting pitching rotation, moving Aki Iwamura to second, and maybe brining in a big bat like Bonds could really make a run at .500 if not more with better mid-relief from the bull pen (pretty high hopes huh). Plus it's pretty embarrassing when you only have 8,000 people in your stadium, he'd put a lot more @sses in the seats thats for sure. I hear he's asked for 15 mil and the Rays are down to pay it. Probably more info than you wanted but thats my take.

Who is THE BIG HECKLER at Trop Field that likes to choose one player of the visiting team to harass? He is usually behind home plate.

I guess if they pick him up just to puts fans in the seats, it might be a good idea.

One thing I don't understand is the lack of support down there in Tampa. Dick Vitale is a season ticket holder and I always hear him hyping up the Rays. They have a great pitcher in Kazmir and have had a ton of young talent for the past few years. I would think that the fans in the area would get behind the team and want them to succeed. When I see games on TV up here, there always seems to be more Sox fans there than Rays fans.

Check out this Cape Cod Times website of the Red Sox Spring Training. If you look at the last photo, you will see my son who caught a foul ball while down there on vacation with his grandparents.

Thats not just with the Sox, thats how it is when most teams come down. I think the problem is most people that live down here are from somewhere else.
Believe it or not a lot of Yankmee fans and Sox fans I've talked to at games come down for a vacation during a series with the Rays because they can get seats for the whole family for the whole series and get a few days at the beach for less than four tickets would cost at Fenway or at Yankmee stadium. Even on gameday you can get tickets at the booth up until a few hours before the opening pitch. Up there you'd be lucky to find tickets anywhere for any price from what they've said.

You're right. I use to live about a half hour north of Tropicana Field. It was nothing to go down there and get tickets, parking, etc.

Up here, try to take the boys to Fenway....get out your credit card and standby!

That's crazy and really it's too bad.

Tickets for any teams, except the Bruins, are at a premium up here. It sucks. That's why I prefer the minor league games in person. I can take the kids and not pay an arm and a leg.

When I take my sons to a hockey game, we usually go see the Manchester (NH) Monarchs. It's close and much cheaper. Besides, the games are exciting and Ray Bourque was at the last one we went to.

During intermission, he stood on the ice in dress shoes and had ten pucks to shoot at the goal from half ice. For each one he scored, some bank donated money for charity. All ten not only went in but went in the center of the goal and I'm not talking slow shots, they were fast wrist shots....unreal!

I used to go to Monarchs games all the time when I lived up near Manchester. I still like to travel up and take my oldest girl to a game once in a while. I also go to at least one or two Fisher Cats games a year. They have a kids section there where the kids can run and jump and meet the mascot. Plus the stadium is really nice and there isn't a bad seat in the house.

I do a lot of Minor league games too, since the Sarasota Reds (double A) play just a few miles from my house. Truth be told tickets are only two bucks cheaper to see Sarasota play than it is for Rays tickets.

Yup, six bucks buys you a box seat. It's only four for general admission. Best part is on Mondays for $11.00 you get a box seat and all you can eat from the concession stand (minus beer, sadly), but a sweet deal none the less.

Just so you know I wasn't kidding about the $8.00 Rays seats. It bumps up to a massive $11.00 for the Yankees and Sox games.
