Ski; My daughter goes to college in Boston and my son is on the Spencer, though they casually root for the Sox they bleed blue and maroon (Mets) so I would like another Mets/Sox world series.

14 days, 20 hours 20 minutes (+ -) till pitchers and catchers report.

The Red Sox and Mets would be an interesting match-up. The Red Sox are the team to beat again.

Does begging and pleading count as foreplay?

You know, there were times that Montreal and Houston looked unbeatable going into the season and between them they 10 less World Championships than the Cardinals. The Mets of '06 looked this dominant and were within one swing of the bat of facing the Tigers pitching staff (good thing the Tigers pitchers couldn't field) in the World Series. How many years were the Braves the best team on paper? How many World Series Championships do they have to show for it?

It happens alot that the best team on paper doesn't turn out to be the best team on the field.

I'm rooting for 'em, cuz the birds are looking pretty dismal again this year. I'd still like to see either Giants or Indians win it all. Anyone but the cubs.

Of course I'm always cheering on my Pittsburgh Pirates but the chances of them doing any damage is nil to none. Free agency; too bad. Frown

Mets are truly good on paper and should be very good this season. Baseball is a very long season so I wouldnt write there ticket to the WS just yet. The phillies might give them a run for there money again this year and I wouldnt be surprised if the braves break out of their two year funk and get back in the playoffs.

Ohh yeah the braves had 1 WS championship to show for their good teams...

I would enjoy seeing something good happening for Willie Randolph. Mets-RedSox World Series. I could go for that.

Josh: Here's what I know about Hampton and Galvine and by the way these are facts. Hampton proclaimed himself to be this tough guy pitcher and teammate from Florida where he was this great athlete. Scumbag Roger Clemens throws at Hampton's catcher (Mike Piazza) twice in the year 2000 and then throws a splintered bat at Mike in the subway series and Hampton never moves off the bench to defend Piazza. Some tough guy. He rapes the Rockies for a 125 million dollars and wins 25 games in five years. The Mets needed ONE win from Tom Glavine last year and he couldn't get out of the first inning against a last place team. Chuck James has the highest WHIP in the National League and gets lit up every time he steps on the mound. Look it up!!The Braves are a joke and we will bury them this year. God Bless though shipmate.

Senior, I said if hampton is healthy he will be a good pitcher again. I think he can win at least 14 games. As for him costing the Rockies i could care less, cz he has cost us the same for the last two and half seasons. Glavine is a solid pitcher. Just because he got rocked in the last game of the season doesnt mean he isnt solid.
Chuck James did have a bad year but if he ptiches like he did two years ago then thats another solid 14 wins. When was the last time the Mets buried the Braves? Cant remember cz a man named Chipper Jones OWNS them.

There really is nothing special about Mike Pelfrey or Oliver Perez.

We needed him to win that game against a last place team. I SAY AGAIN HE DIDN'T GET OUT OF THE FIRST INNING. Name me one hall of fame pitcher that couldn't do that. He begged the Braves to resign him in 2004 and they wouldn't. He doesn't get the inside and outside corner calls anymore, so he has to bring his 88 mph over the plate. I love Smoltz, Hudson is inconsistent, and that's it Josh. The Braves are going down this year.

Im Sorry I have seen a lot of Hall of Fame type pitchers get rocked in 1 inning. Gregg Maddux, Clemens, and smoltz just to name a few. I agree Hudson is inconsistent but Im hoping he pitches more like he did when he was in Oakland and the beginning of last season.

As for the Braves going down this year, we will just have to wait until September to see that.

The deal still has to get done and you still have will have to beat the American League champion. But I will tell you one team that could beat any team out there. It would be the the Cape May Bears coached by the one and only Brian Smith. The had an incredible lineup and great experienced pitching and stellar defense. Do you remember our trip to Governers Island. Hope all is well. Have a great weekend Brian! Give me a call sometime 978.283.0705.

Hey Sean what's up brother? Did we win that Governors Island tournament? I remember Yandell getting hurt and Archambo stepping up big time. I think Archambo was MVP of the tournament.

Yes we did win. We lost the first game of the tourney but ended up winning the whole thing. We had to beat the Islanders twice. The first game was close but then we mercied them in the second game. We had a very good team. I still have the picture of me signing an autograph for Colin at one of the Cape May tourneys. I see that he is stationed in Boston. I am in Gloucester, MA. If you get up this way I would love to grab a beer and catch up on old times. I will be transferring this summer. I am going to be an instructor in Petaluma. When you get the chance give me a call or give me your email.
Later,
Sean

I would love to see a Red Sox vs Mets World Series. The nation would go crazy after the Superbowl with the Giants and Pats going at it. The New York media would love it along with myself after the Pats win their fourth SB in seven years and the Red Sox beat the Mets for their third World Series in five years.

This could be fun!
