My question is how many IS's are generally sent to places like Italy or any European base out of C school? It's my dream basing location and just curious as to what my odds are. Thanks all.

Is that like: "How many ISes does it take to change a light bulb?"
It better not be many - Europe is big on cap-and-trade carbon emission nonsense. Too many ISes would exhale too much CO2. "Mack the Knife" CDR USN (Ret) Illegitimi non carborundum |

HEY, HEY, HEY! AT EASE! I resemble those remarks. There's a young padwan wanting some information and all you salts can think of is running down a perfectly good rate.
Young padwan, most of you will go to sea duty aboard a bird farm (as did yours truly) or a squadron deployable to said bird farms. The rest will go to some overseas squadrons and a very lucky few on their first enlistment may, I repeat may get to go to an overseas shore station. I hear that they let you choose orders by rank in A school these days, but that didn't really happen back before the internet and cell phones. I remember one guy in my class going to a squadron in Sigonella Sicily and the rest going Carrier or Squadrons. |

O - Kay ... but only because it's you, TexasIS. Others need not apply...

Right now the livin' is easy but I go back to work on the 29th, kids come back on Aug. 25th. The job I took in Lufkin is really a lateral move but with no 400/month gas bill. The staff is all familiar since I taught there several years before I went to Nac. Should be pretty good. Holler at me when you come CDR, just got a new Olive Garden! |
