If you (or a loved-one) are pregnant, consider getting vaccinated.

There's an important letter today from the CDC, titled Dear Colleague Joint Letter from AAFP, ACOG, AMA and CDC: Vaccination of Pregnant Women.

The letter reminds everyone that for pregnant women the risks of severe illness or death from H1N1 flu are six-fold multiplied.

There is ample vaccine available already for every pregnant woman.



It's your choice ... best make it an informed choice.

Just as a side note too. Schools here close to me have been closed and are just re-opening after record outbreaks of the flu!

Had a school over on the coast that had 100 something kids out the beginning of the week. The normal is 4 or 5 per day.

Things is, they're not testing to determine if its the H1N1 or another flu, just assume H1N1.

with the way it's been spreading, though, by the time they actually get the vaccine out fully everyone will have had it and it'll be worthless.
