The only thing missing from the pics is the crosshairs.

Torpedo away, running hot and true.

And to think I was about to post a Nice comment about you Eek I must have taken leave of my limited good sense..

One of these days the Skimmers aka SAILORS on here are going to start slamming back. Wink

I've tried using (good natured) ribbing about the Air and Submarine community's but was told that my comments were something less then welcome.

I'm not sure yet what heading this falls under in the "Rules of Land Warfare," but seeing as how most of you are now land locked I'd recommend YOU watch YOUR 6, cause y'all ain't 20,000 leagues beneath the sea now.

Fore warned is Fore

Its from breathing that stuff they pass off for air. Even their wives won't let em in the door wearing clothes they wore aboard on a cruise because of the smell. Big Grin

All true comments. Nobody ever said we were normal folks -- and we like it that way.

We enjoy the good-natured ribbing. Go through the sub forum and you'll see that we take potshots at each other all the time.

Well that Swedish IAP submarine has always come out the winner in exercises at sea, sinking the Ronny Reagan every time and even against our own SSNs too… If it every comes down to “throwdown” time with the Chinese, we had better have more than just our past combat laurels to depend on. With all that bILL kLINTON provided technology they are using you had better hope we can be as good as we use to be at ASW.. Time will tell.

Spent some time in the Dentists chair yesterday, so I'll wait a little to answer this one. To be honest Buck you're one of the "Good Guys" on here so anything I do say can be taken with a grain of salt. As a former REAL fresh air breather, you've earned the right to talk shi*. Smile Beer
As of course have all the Airdales, and Sleeze B's.... Beer Beer

Thanks Senior Chief... I hope the trip to the Dentist went ok... Have a good Friday and weekend. Now I gotta get ready to head to work.
I'll say one thing, I think some folks were truely upset with my original comment.

In answer/reply to this post I'll only say... The lions share of posters on Mil.com can only dream of doing what you've done!!

As much as MY posts can and are misunderstood, I've seldom if ever misunderstood one of yours, to wit the NTC/RTC thread..All I can say is TKS Shipmate Smile

For those FNG's that don't REALLY understand Military humor/slams.... **** you if you can't take a joke. Over....

Keep it PG-14. - TMC

HAHAHA!!!... Thanks Senior Chief, Spoken like a True Boatswain’s Mate!!!!... Well I appreciate your words too Shipmate and I always look forward to what you have to say too… Actually that statement:

There are only two types of vessels that ply the oceans, Submarines and TARGETS!!!

According to one of my Submarineer Shipmates, an ETC(SS)(Ret.), the above statement has been taken so out of context or too seriously by non-submarineers that T-shirts with that statement printed on them were banned from Navy clubs, due to the fact they caused a lot of fist fights. Argue Curse I Can’t understand why…Roll Eyes)

Maybe some of the crowd here can comment. T-Shirts with that catchy statement were pretty popular at Sub Base Pearl in the early 70s.. Submarines and Submarineers tend to treat all others (even ours as potentially threatening).. And there are justifiable reasons for it.

Here is a little story told to me by a retired TMC(SS) WWII SubVet, it will help explain why. He made several successful war patrols on different fleetboats in WWII. He was serving in the Tabor(SS-198)when they were returning to Pearl from a war patrol. They were running on the surface well within the established safety zone for U.S. Submarines. They were strafed by a SBD dauntless dive bomber. Fortunately there were no casualties topside. The hot rock Airdale pilot in his attempt to return for a second pass was to low and as he winged over, he caught a wing tip and splashed himself and his rear gunner. The Tabor didn’t even slow down, change course or nothin’… So, you can see where the attitude comes from so to speak…

More about this later on the Navy Trivia thread, which will drive the point home... Stay tuned Shipmates.....
