Since I was asked I will post the Beer Bread recipe:

Ingredients:
cooking spray
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
12oz beer
2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Coat an 8 inch loaf pan with cooking spray.

In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Make a well in the center. Pour in beer and olive oil and mix until just blended. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake 45 minutes until golden brown.

Yes but I haven't gotten the particulars yet. I'll make it for just about anyone who asks! I enjoy doing this stuff. And hell I have all the time in the world. My house is clean and the laundry is done and it doesn't take that much time. It is much easier to do when the oven is already warm.

In my defense, it was only a 12-pack. NOT a case.

got a loaf cooling on the counter now. even made garlic dip to go with it. I am good spousal unit.

any decent liquor store should have Mikes.

I have always made beer bread with light or white beers, never anything as heavy as Guinness.

Mrs. please tell me how it turned out I am anxious to hear. And the garlic dip sounds so yummy. I have found Mike's lemonade and such but the cider is something new and I live in the boonies so it may be difficult for me to get it.

We don't even have reliable cell service here! LOL. And when the wind changes direction wireless internet gets interesting!

I am pleased to announce that the beer bread went over very well not only with Mr Khaki Pants but also with the group of ladies I spent the day making cards with. several asked for the recipe....

although I think next time I may melt a few tablespoons of butter and drizzle over the top before baking....
