I sad..I was rooting for the titans. I'm a Dallas Cowboys fan, so I'm anti-pittsburg, anti-redskins, anti-giants, anti-cardinals, and anti-eagles. I'm rooting for the cowboys and I think the lions will make the playoffs.

2. That the San Diego "Lightning Boltz" a.k.a. "Lightning DOLTs" will have a losing season. (this is a new thing????)

3. The REAL USC (Southern Cal) will have ANOTHER Great year.

4. That that other USC (University of South Carolina) a.k.a. The Great Pretender, will have ANOTHER losing season.

I know, I know! This is supposed to be one weeks worth of NFL..

LOL. I love college ball too. Penn State and Joe Paterno all the way! In fact, they just won, but it wasnt like they were playing a hard team.

I guess cause I go to KU I am supposed to love the Jayhawks (or so I've been told) but I dont. Ever since they had that one freak year where they went to the orange bowl on a JV schedule they think they're the greatest team ever, and they're really not. Oh, and Magino's a fat ass and I'm ****ed they used my money to build a new "football atheltics facility" that Mangino doesnt even have to get up to open the window shades in and all the football players get X-boxes.

Sorry that was a bit of a sidebar. /rant.

Didn't watch the game. But yeah, great way to start the season; upholding the Madden curse right out of the box. Day 1, Game 1. No dilly-dallying.

And one other thing, for you O-Hi-O fans, the score was, USC 18, O-Hi-O what? Eek I'll buy this round cause the Whole State of Ohio can't afford to after that game. Wink Beer

The nice thing about being a true blue fan is that there is always someone to have fun with. Tag MP, you're it this week. 34-21 over Tampa Bay and the last touchdown was when the 'Boys were just trying to keep anyone from getting hurt before next week's game.

And I'm serious about being a true blue fan. I have silver and blue boots, I was in the stands during Aikman's 1-15 season and my family schedules Thanksgiving dinner around the game. I became a Dallas fan in '67 and have remained one ever since.

Aww. C'mon, the shirt that say COCKS in big bold letters right across the front is one of the best conversation starters of all times! A little piece of me died Saturday night with that 4th quarter. It was well fought. but ugh!

Tomorrow is NFL day, but right now it's college time!

Penn STate is winning (yeah!) and KU is as well. Can't watch the Penn state game so I have the computer set to auto-refresh on ESPN to track it.

I am watching the KU game (I can hear the Campanille in the backround). they're winning, but playing like crap. They can't expect to have an winning season if they continue to play like this when they start playing their in-conference Big 12 games. It is cute watching the kids get into the KU games because we live here, though. All four of them are chanting "Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk" right now on the couch.

FOr tomorrow, I'm relatively certain that Pittsburg will beat Chicago.

My Woplverines are now 3-0...but the one that impressed me was the win over Notre Dame. The team played well....

Penn State will most likely take the Big Ten this year. Joe Pa always seems to put together strong teams.

As to the NFL? Steelers!

Don't get me started on Southern Cal vs my South Carolina. I do believe I was more excited when Southern Cal lost yesterday than I was when all of my teams won yesterday. I have a high distaste for that school and particularly that program. And only a small part of it is rooted in the whole USC vs USC title debate.
It was a fantastic weekend in College Football!

There has never (football wise) been a debate about NCAA, and or National, TITLES between SoCal and SoCar.

Yeah, I know. The Steelers lost.
But so did the Patriots....

They can still take it all.

And I will wear my Steeler's shirt until they are out of the playoff picture.

Rat, am I the keeper of all knowledge for either school. No. I'm not going to sit and debate this either way. Because frankly its not that important. Most of what Ive ever said on the subject of the two schools is purely just in a jest sense of college football. Loving certain teams and hating others. Very similiar to the obvious distaste many have against the Dallas Cowboys for no other reason than they are the Cowboys. My reasons of hatred for SoCal go deeper than that but its all the same. My love for SoCarolina is what was beat into my system from the start. And quite frankly if I think they're the best thing since shrimp and grits then so be it. How are you to tell me they're not. By general standards for college ball they're not. But those are by the same people who've probably never had shrimp and grits. No, they will never see each other on the gridiron unless we make it to the Rose Bowl, cause we all no SoCal will be there...., but thats okay. Plenty of people like schools in one conference and despise schools in others. Its the way this world works. For those that are Trojans fans. I have never and will never harp on you for liking the team that you do. I have my reasons for not being a fan, most of which reside on the field and in the locker room. Those are probably some of the same reasons that make you a fan. And thats fine. Be true to your school and I'll stay true to mine.

11:30 on a Sunday night and I'm watching Romo throw the ball to the other team -- again. Mistakes made all around, as with any team, but Romo did not look good yesterday. Oh well, they'll have to lick their wounds and play a make well game against Carolina next week while the NYG are beating up the Buccaneers. Big shocker headlines here in Tampa today "The Bucs are Bad!" No kidding. Most of the people in Tampa figured that out during preseason.

With regard to Ski:

I had just moved to Columbia and was hanging out in my local Applebee's one Saturday evening when the bartender asked me who I was pulling for in "the game". I replied that Michigan had already won. He got nasty, and asked who I was rooting for again. I told him Navy had thrashed Army, and those were the only games that mattered.

The barkeep went off on me...said the Clemson-Carolina game was far more important that either of the two I had cared about. I replied "I don't really see how a game between two schools with losing records can be that important...."

I almost got thrown out of the bar. They take it seriously here. In fact, a guy just went to prison for killing his buddy over "the game" two years ago...
