Hi everyone, I'm a military enthusist from Minnesota. Both of my grandfathers served in WWII in the army. I wanted to make a jacket to honor each of them. I found a jacket at a flea market that had patches on it already. I was wondering about the patches on it now, if it is just a mish-mash of patches that one wouldn't see in the real world. Right now its got Staff Sergeant tabs on the collar, a drill instructor patch on the right breast pocket, an engineers school patch on the left shoulder and a patch I'm not too sure about above the left breast pocket. The engineer school patch I'm not 100% on, I found another one on the internet but I couldn't find out anything about it. Its got the castle with a torch through it, I can get the link if anyone wants to see it. The patch I'm not sure about is a small rectangle with what looks like a helicopter with wings coming out of the sides. I was hoping someone could help me out with the engineer patch and the helicopter patch and also if one would see this combination in the real world. Thanks everybody!!!!
I realise it's been awhile since anyone has answered or replied to you but here go'es. I couldn't find an Engineer patch with a torch but the 18th Eng. was a red diamond w/ white border and had a sword through the castle. You might try www.usmedals.com they might know. Sorry ,nothing on the rectangle chopper patch
