This is a concept that has worried me for sometime now and I’d love to hear some research for defense that has been initiated in the recent past. What is preventing any space faring foreign government from deploying a nuclear armament within a satellite platform which contains the ability to alter its orbit to pass quickly over any region? Anything from nuclear explosives to upper atmosphere EMPs could reasonably be delivered in this manner. Satellites are a largely untracked phenomenon from what I understand, this lack of oversight combined with the ability to stealth such devices equals the ability to place overhead a variety of options within quick deployment. Serious screening should be looked into as I don’t see any reason why this replacement for ICBMs will not be implemented. I’d love to hear why this is an unfeasible concept, let me know what you think.
