The only thing i see is missing from the Hummers is the Front Bumpers we make. We have made approx. 138 for the Rangers at Ft. Benning Ga. The feedback i get is they love them. AM General, LLC, South Bend, Ind., was awarded on May 13, 2008, a $187,750,244 firm-fixed price contract for 1,470 High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicles.
Work will be performed at Mishawaka, Ind., and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2009. One bid was solicited and one bid received.
Test and Automotive Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity. (DAAE07-01-C-S001).
The gun truck are good. But if they would use the other vehicals that AM General Hummer, was try to come out with in 1983. The Army was have a test bed for motorize vehical, at that time. 3/47 Inf. 9th Div was doing the testing at that time, for 6 months. This is for fighting the Russans at the time.
