My husband has been ArifJan since late June. I have sent 3 packages, and a few post cards and letters. NONE of them have made their way to him yet. Is this normal? I sent all of the packages PRIORITY mail, and the first one went out the day he deployed. I am a brand-new Military Wife, and could really use some information. Thanks so much! (I guess those first brownies will be fossilized if they ever reach him...lol) Smile

i usually dont even send stuff til they let me know they are on station-some times the address they are given before they go changes when they get there-and the mail over is pretty slow right now-a box i sent on the 29th of june to a place that normaly takes six days didnt get there til 10 july-so between that and the fact that they are probably still in transitional quarters i am not surprised at all.

During two deployments I sent a LOT of packages and they all took bewteen 7 to 14 days.
I never sent to Kuwait I prefer to wait until they get wherever they will be station.

No, that's NOT normal actually.
Average mail from the States to Kuwait is about 10-14 days, any longer than that---something's up with the mail system and/or who's delivering it.

I sent things out to my husband on a weekly basis--never had anything take longer than 14 days. Not even during Christmas.

one thing to consider too is that Kuwait is usually a stepping off point to elsewhere.. he may not actually stay there at all and was just there a short time to get further orders.

plus their addresses do change even if they themselves don't actually go anywhere.
