quick question...
does anyone know what the procedure is once a member of the Navy gets back from deployment or cruise or whatever they call it?
What I mean is, do they have a few days off before returning to work again... or do they report to work the next day? Just curious what the procedure was for when my boyfriend returns from deployment, his family and I are trying to plan out our trip to go visit him when he returns. Thanks in advance for any responses...

It depends on how they were underway for...post deployment can differ if they were gone for 3 months versus 6 month, etc...

Hi..usually, they have a period where they can take some leave to stay at home with family before they return to work...depends on his CO though, and what the mission entails. I know when my husband got back from deployment, his ship took leave in two different increments. One half of his ship got two weeks of leave, and then when they got back, the other half went on leave. Just depends on his ship. Hope this helps.
