Hello all, as some may know my DH is leaving Sunday morning (way too early may I add, LOL) for our 1st deployment.

I believe I am freaking out here. I haven't been able to sleep, can't fall asleep, then wake up every 2 hours, up at the crack of dawn.
And sleep was one thing I never had a problem doing, LOL! My head is spinning. Please, any advice is appreciated.

Take a deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep breath and slowly let it out. It's very easy to get stressed out when they leave. You need to find ways to help you calm down - meditation, write in a journal, relax with a cup of coffee or tea, or a hot bath.

I would suggest getting in touch with the FRG/FSG for his unit. It can help to be in touch with other spouses going through the same thing as you.

If this persists I would suggest seeing your doctor and contacting Military One Source.

this is a very Normal response-like SGTMOM said-your over thinking it-added to that-since he is deploying with another state-your not going to have much in the way of an FRG-but i think i can help with that-if you will email me thru the site and tell me where you are in -i know the midwest-Nebraska or Kansas-i will find out where the nearest national guard family assistance center is and give you their contact information-these centers are run by the state national guards but serve all family members from all services. They should be able to put you in touch with the FRG of a unit near you-or the unit he is leaving may be willing to provide you some support-Bottom line-relax-it will be okay-you will get thru this-even thou it doesnt feel that way-oh and i went 14 months with out a decent nights sleep-so i completely understand.
