Hey all. Being Guard I wear my beret about three times per month: on the way home after the Saturday of a drill, on the way to the armory Sunday morning, and finally on the way back home again. Being a silly private I want my beret to look as perfect as possible. I would just wear a PC when en-route but I am too "by the book" for my own good.

Long story short, since it spends 28 days of every month sitting on my dresser in that weird folded-mode it looks fairly @$$ed up and I have to dedicate a day to fixing it.

Is there any way to get it to retain its shape during the "offseason?"



Not trying to start a discussion about how awesome/evil it is, just looking for some advice.

I hang it on a hat-rack, open-style, so the point of the rack is under the flash.
My buddy puts it on a blow-up dall, all prim-and-proper, and that seems to work for him.

Why don't you ask this in, or use the search feature to find your answer in the Awards & Uniforms forum? I'm sure this has been asked there already.

pharoah_1701-n - The blow-up doll idea, while a bit wacky, actually sounds like a good idea. Maybe I can find a mannequin head somewhere.

gumbydammit - I apologize if this isn't the best forum. I did a search and either my terms were too specific (no results) or too generic (lots of people here apparently strongly dislike the beret) I had figured I'd put it on the NG/Reserves forum because it has a more targeted audience.
