I am wondering how the pay works on a long ADT tour. I will be on ADT for 8 months at school. Do I automatically get put on a standard pay schedule (1st and 15th) or do I need to request that. I am used to 5-10 day ADT where you submit pay at the end. I think I will need a check before the 8 months is up. I am asking here because my UA is never around and not much help.
Bottom line is don't wait, make sure all your pay records are current, including docmentation for full BAH if you will be getting it. Copy of lease, 2 checks or verification of payment and 2 utility bills (at least that is what USPFO is asking of us in the Guard). This way you will not incur a problem right of the beginning of your schooling. If your UA is notoriously absent, then track him/her down...be relentless, the squeeky wheel gets the grease or in this case the attention. Maj H
If you do a week long training course (ADT), or are on State Orders for flood duty (ADT) do you get full pay like drill weekends or half pay like RMA? Also, wouldn't you get Substance Alws, Mileage, and BAH II?
ADT is one day worked for a day's pay. You need orders for ADT.
RMA is one day worked for a day's pay. You don't need orders for RMA but each unit has a limited supply (called "man days") per year.
IDT is one day worked for two day's pay (drills). You do not need orders to attend a scheduled drill or to make up a missed drill at a later date.
You don't get BAH or BAS for orders less than 30 days.
If you are TDY (on orders or 1610) you are eligible to submit a travel voucher (transportation, hotel, car rental, mileage, gas, per deium, etc...)
