There an no combat units in the Reserve that are in the US. The combat units that are " reserves" is the National Guard. If you want 11B, you HAVE to go National guard. Again there are no Combat units in the reserves.. reserves are Combat support and combat services and support

There are very, very few units in the Army Reserve that have 11B's. Most USAR units are support. There are quite a few combat engineer units around the Reserves. Trust me...that can be a great MOS to have.

If you are set on 11B....you need to look into the National Guard. I am fairly sure the VA has some infantry units around.

If you want Infantry in VA, you need to go Guard. 116 BCT, 29th ID (light).

Actually, naysayers, there is a reserve unit in Covington, VA that is an 11B unit. They are considered support because they are 11B instructors but their primary MOS is still 11B. Their summer drill is usually at another CONUS installation where they conduct classes, training, etc. And really, don't go Guard.

If you want just the MOS and never perform it in a real life (downrange) situation, then numbers is correct. Go VA Guard if you want the full experience, the 116th-29th is a very prestigious and historic unit.

Going 11B in the reserves is like getting a degree in education, then never actually performing any teaching duties, then going out and trying to teach others how to teach. It doesnt fly and people see right through it.

Hey numbers, you got a problem with the Infantry in the Guard? I'm pretty proud of it.

MOS-T instructors require line-unit time under their belt for instructor certification.
