I want to attend 68W course but I am a 68D E-6 and people at my unit tell me once I'm a E-6 I can no longer take on a secondary MOS. There used to be waivers but I heard those are going away. If anyone has any info on this it would help me out alot.

Does your unit have an open 68W E6 slot?

According to the course website at http://appd.amedd.army.mil/enl...W_Course_Summary.htm prerequisites include E5 or below to attend from the RC. That's all the data I have - good luck!

That's affirmative. No E6's. You would have to demote to be eligible.

I reclassed to 68W in 2006 and there were SSGs from the Guard and Reserve in my class. All of the active duty were SPC and below.

You are talking three years ago. We had this discussion in our staff meeting a few months ago because, as a Med Bn, we have a number of E7, E8 slots open. A person was willing to reclass, but AMEDD wouldn't take an E6,and the person wasn't willing to take a bust.

Maybe it's a state thing, but I could swear we were told it's an AMEDD policy now.
