Greetings all, I'm wondering if anyone knows of any National Guard infantry units deploying to Afghanistan in 2013. I'm currently deployed in Kosovo and I would like to volunteer for a deployment to Afghanistan afterwards. Thanks for any help
Yup, I sure do! But I'm not going to list units on here. You can try the GKO volunteer site, you can use GKO to find units with deployment orders and contact them directly, or you can volunteer through your current CoC.
Opportunities are going be getting slimmer as we start to drawdown, and units are becoming very selective on who they take. After our orders were recinded some guys got on other missions but had to have letter of recommendation and records review prior to getting on.
