This is an inappropriate topic, especially for children, agree?

Disagree -- there are tens of thousands of gays and lesbians in the military, and an estimated 1 million gay and lesbian veterans. So this topic is quite appropriate in Military.com. Furthermore, issues surrounding gay military members and the Don't Ask, Don't Tell law create some of the most widely read and widely commented on topics in all of the Discussion groups.

Raising the specter of children as an argument against something you don't like is a straw man to the extreme. If you don't want YOUR children to read about gay and lesbian issues, I suggest you block their access to those pages on the internet, and this one too, if you feel that way. But the implication of your post is that NOBODY should have access to these discussions since you feel that children shouldn't be exposed to the topic. Correct me if I'm wrong.

If you don't like gays and lesbians in the military, let's hear your reasons. That's what the discussion boards are all about.

Although this Forum makes every attempt to keep all the Topics clean and wholesome for all ages, it is a Military Forum where we discuss issues that affect Military personnel. To suggest that the topic is inappropriate is to assume that there is something wrong with the concept of homosexuality, and by extension, something wrong with homosexuals. That assumption says more about you than about the topic, Aimhigh.

For one thing mil com is not designed to be a play site for children. Personally I would be very happy if no children came here, regardless of their age.

There is no topic that cannot be discussed if done so in a proper manner.

I've always preferred the idea of children learning about all the aspects of life, be they good or bad, in a controlled environment rather then in some smelly alley. This does not mean I'm labeling this as a discussion about something bad. I'm simply saying that all subjects are or will become grist for the young mind and I'd rather they hear it in a proper atmosphere.

im 16 and i am a CHILD but, i come here to relax, debate and study the military because i plan to join and make a lifetime job out of this and trust me there are WAY more children than you think on here and most only come here because they want to know about military and very very very few are brats. *salute*

Got pick at something or they be picking their nose.

We seeing there are not just heterosexuals, homosexuals, bisexual, we got those who get sex changes, do they still serve, then there the ones with both sexual components do they get to serve, then what about those that prefer sex with pets or farm animals do they serve or those who have no sex at all are they serving too. What an eye-opener. What a really small number of troops be left if we were to seperate out the one that I listed that disgusted you. I got to say Most of them are probably better at their military job than you who has time to think on the subject of rather same sex people can serve or not.

Globird, I may be obtuse or just plain dumb but I'm having lot of trouble figuring out just what your post has to do with the discussion topic. For that matter your post it's self seems to ,at least to me, a deep murky pool which makes no sense.
