I started this discussion at the Women in the Military section.

My question is, how does the rule against cross dressing affect women? Is it mostly relating to wearing the correct uniform, or would boxer's and men's jeans be a bad idea?

Lots of rules and regulations about proper military attire while in uniform, but during off duty hours you can wear your jeans and boxer shorts.

Cross Dressing rules were undoubtedly created to address the issue of what men can wear, and not directed toward women. A man wearing a womans jeans would be permitted provided the man could keep them from sliding off his back-side (smile). But a man wearing a womans dress would be unacceptable.

I get your point though, it seems to be a one sided rule seeing how a woman can wear anything a man wears,,, but a man can't wear everything a woman wears. Cross-Dressing is simply a social issue that has tones of discrimination written all over it.

Brings to mind the old saying: Never Judge A Book By It's Cover.
