I've been wanting one for a very long time ~ but finding a M-1 carbine in real good shape at a fair price never was all too easy ~ until today ~ This thing has been so taken care of you would just about think it was brand new.
The man that had was asking for $450.00 I got it for $400.00 even.. Good Day at the Gun Show..
This is my 13 year old Daughter with the M-1 and she can damn handle that weapon ~ So boy's BACK OFF!
Sweet pickup, man! I love the carbine. Great plinker, low recoil, light weight, good for popping squirrels and fisher cats, decent for home defense as well...I'd love to get my hands on one. I'd actually prefer an M1A1 Carbine.
Nice find, although I'm wondering about the upper hand guards. Usually they are wooden, but those metal holey hand guards look like civilian after market ones.
Sweet piece. Owned one about 20 years ago, loved it. Get yourself a copy of the Shotgun News. You'll find all kinds of accessories for your Carbine there, pouches, mags 15/30 rd, bayonet barrel bands, slings, oilers, bayonets, etc.
It looks like an old Iver Johnson or american can. The upper haned guard tells me it's not military. Probably from the 60's or 70's. A lot of military parts wont fit the civilian model. Most of the M-1 carbines are send backs from other countrys. and have the M-2 stocks or what ever they could find in the arsanal. I used to sell Excel/Gardner & Blue sky M-1's for $125.00. They were from Isreal and S.Korea. then the phillipinos started selling theirs.
