Can anyone here give me the specs on the new course of fire for the M-4 qualification?

Getting ready to shoot it this weekend in Fort Rucker, but would like to be at the range this week to practice.

I know it includes prone supported, prone unsupported, and kneeling or sitting (don't know which or if both are legal).

If you have a link to the info, all the better.

Thanks,

Sgt.U.S.ARMY, Infantry Sniper, Iraq Combat Veteran

Alll our rifle quals for record, for deployment, included the kneeling position.

Tuck your right foot under, and sit on it. Lock the inside of your left elbow against the raised left knee. With the left arm tight to your leg, the hand simply supports the rifle like a shooting stick.

I actually shoot the 300's better in kneeling.

Kneeling is legal, is the sitting position legal as well?

Also, could you tell me the number of rounds shot in each position?

Thanks for the info.

I'm ARNG, so I'll be going to a club range this week with my own M-4 to practice.

Sorry, I'm pretty sure this is incorrect. I'll double check the tables at work tomorrow and I'll post it here after I double check. We have it (The new course of fire) programed into our RETS Range Computer of available qual programs on our Range 73. Three Tables make up the course of fire course. I can even fax you the score card if you like. Go to AKO, look up my "actaul" and e-mail me on my CONUS.army.mil address with a current FAX number and I'll send it to you if you like...

Table 2 - Prone Unsupported
10 rds

Table 3 - Kneeling

This is right off of the DA Form 3595-R Dtd July 2006, which is printable and available if you have access to AKO. go to "Self Service" and then click on DA Pubs & Forms

Theres also the New OIF/OEF deployment standard.

You have to be wearing Full IBA to include
SAPI
Neck, Throat & Groin pads
Combat Ear Plugs
Ballistic Eyewear
Knee & Elbow pads

Normal Army Std. is the Vest, dont even have to have the Neck Yoke...

Most of the Units I put through have problems with the Kneeling as they've never done it before, and the Prone due to putting the IFAK on the front of the vest, along with every pouch imaginable.
