Our unit is looking to switch to the M-4. If anyone has written up the justification for this, or knows where a good guidline to follow, please let me know. I believe this form would be the DA-4610 R. I need some bullets that would make our command want to do this. I would greatly appreciate the help. And the sooner you could respond the better, I am trying to find this for my MAJ.

They fit in the chow hall easier.

J/K Big Grin

Easier, which makes it safer, for kicking in doors. Safer in a hummer/MTV/Striker/M2A2/carrier/Buffalo/MRAP etc. and much easier to deploy when needed.

The buttstock is more ergonomic while wearing IBA, making hits more predictable.

You're going to hang a ton of accessories on it, so to start with a lighter weapon keeps your overall combat load down.

Looks cooler in Heroic photo's.

Seriously, you're gonna love it. When our unit switched from the A2's to the M-4's a lot of us were worried. We thought we would hate them. They turned out to be awesome, I found mine to be much more accurate than my A2 because when wearing body armor, I could collapse the stock and maintain a much better cheek weld, pull the rifle right up into my shoulder. There were only 2 downsides-it's freaking LOUD!! And it gets way hotter way quicker than the A2. Other than that, it's awesome.
