I own a mauser and I am wondering if anyone knew of any online sites that have a TM for this rifle.

I own a Mauser K98 as well. It's a great rifle, though it kicks like a mother!

Mitchell's Mausers has a decent manual for PMCS. I highly recommend you do NOT buy from them. Their rifles are M48's, which are post-war Yugoslavian rifles built on German tooling. For the price they charge, you can get an authentic German Mauser.

Bob Tuley's website has step by step photos for cleaning and disassembly. His website came in handy when I couldn't figure out how the bolt went back together.

Be careful using surplus ammo. It's fine for plinking and general rifle practice. Since surplus ammo is FMJ ball, it's generally not legal for hunting. If you do shoot surplus ammo, be aware that the primers in the cartridges are usually corrosive. You'll need to neutralize it right after you're done shooting. A spritz of ammonia based glass cleaner does the trick.

It's great that many pdf's are out there for such a wide variety of firearms. In the past I had to buy manuals at gun shows. A few years ago, an online friend sent a pdf on the FAL, thus enabling me to totally take apart, clean, and assemble everything (namely the gas system). Rifle fires and functions beautifully.

By the way, I don't recall who my 8mm Mauser's from. It's in the big safe somewhere, shot the thing only a few rounds.

Bought one of the M48 series Yugo mausers when they were first introduced in the US.Splurged and bought an 'unfired' specimen w/accessories bayonet/scabbard,cleaning kit, leather cartridge boxes.Add a few bandoliers of good 7.92 non corrosive heavy boat tail ball and your ready to go/The rifle was in truly unfired condition as faict. No wear matks on bolt runways no promer markings on bolt face and absolutely perfect bore. They dont come that way anymore for the less than $200 I paid nor can you find good non corrosive ammo. There is some good yugo sniper ammo from the 80s that may be slightly corrosive thats supposedly very accurate/consistent.Ill second the do not buy from mitchell arms!Far to much $ for what you buy.The german mausers are refinished so they may be pretty but any collector values gone and the bbls are likely corroded. The best bang in a mauser is the yugo model 24/47s very good to excellent examples can still be found in SGN but preferrably you could take your pick from a rack.failing that Id get the best shape available and ask for a special selection for bore comndition.OR, If you wantv a fine shooter mauser a VG M48 with a new mauser military contour bbl by wilson,7.62x51, they also have 30-06 but that caliber wont fit the slightly shorter m48 series action but is just fine on a m24/47.My special selection M48 and portugese mil surp heavy ball will keep up with my M1A quite nicely gonging the 500m steel silouette
8out of 10 from a field supported position.Just a bit slower than the semiauto but still quite a lethal bit of history. There still out there in fair quantity but condition will decline as will availability so if you want a better than average condition mauser and you dont insist on a german man example(*they are made on german tooling)the yugos show excellent quality.
