I was there from Oct 91 - Apr 93. Part of 1st plt, Sgt Martusciello was the original plt Sgt when I got there.

I remember Peno the barber, the Porthole restaurant, EMO, the Jazz and the Flam clubs. Humpty was there on her wall and was still there when I went back to Naples on a pump in 94.

I don't recall the skull guidon in 2nd plt, but we had the "booger stick" in 1st.

Too bad you had Martiscello (however you spell it). What an assh***! Not too bright either.

Radplaiddude and I were there before you came. I left in Jan of 91' and Oman was our PltSgt. Were guys like Sgt. Walden,Cpl's Blake and Mize there?

Well it's been 15 years for me -- longer for others I see. I guess we all can't quite shake MarBar Naples.
I was there '87 to '89, 3rd Platoon the whole time.
Sullivan: I remember folks like: Hawk, Helm, Bredemyer, McGee, Miller, Kidd, Blose, Merriman, Cole, Mancuso, et. all. I'm sure you remember some of those names... Do you remember who tested the bulletproof glass on Post 1/1A? I believe the testing was done, accidentally, from the inside, with a .12 Gauge...

BTW: Humpty Dumpty (the original) was hit by a truck and killed while I was in Naples, '88 I think.
If a certain Marine does not show up to the reunion, I may be forced to tell everyone that he actually did IT with Humpty. Swear to God I actually know someone, who we were stationed with, who did that horrible, horrible thing!!! To make matters worse, he was a legacy!!! This particular Marine's Dad was said to have done her when he was on liberty from a Med-Cruse in the 60's, yuck! No surprise, this particular Marine is from West Virginia... Step forward now before it's too late!!!
I think the "Ricks" on Chicken Corner still fear the screaming engine of a BMW 2002. Ramming speed... AAARRRUUUAAAHHH!!!

I remember Sgt Oman, just. Sorry to see all the bad comments about Sgt M though, he was always pretty straight with me. He was a helluva lot better than his replacement. Anyone out there recall Sgt Washington?? Or for that matter, Maj Christie, the CO when I got there? He was one weird officer.

I live in London, been here since '95.

Jarhead: I really don't mean to be too rough about Sgt M but he and I just didn't mesh. Sgt Oman was crazy funny as hell. I remember Maj Christie. He actually hooked me up with a meritorious mast.

London is a great city. My wife is from Wales. We hooked up in Naples. She was a teacher at AFSouth and I got to know all of the Brits. Did you ever meet the Royal Marines in Naples? There were only a few but many Royal Navy and RAF guys who loved to party.

I would love to find some of the Brits.

Whatever happened to Blake and Mize?

I also hooked up with a Brit Chick, a WREN posted at AFSOUTH. She got there in '90, left in '92. She may remember your wife. I'll email you my personal email addy.

The Brits over there were great, really fun to be around. My wife is still serving, so I still have the contacts of all the RM and RN people she serves with.

Any plans to immigrate to Wales and raise lots of little taffy's?

I would love to know some of the whereabouts of the Brit Forces. My wife knew some of the WRENS she was a Wren back in her day but not in Naples.

I will have to look up some old photos and rack my wife's brain for info but some of the people I really remember that were Brit were Collin (RAF) and wife Jackie, J.J. (Royal Marine and wife Sandra). I knew them all and only because of my wife you know how standoffish they were especially the ones at Bldg 70.

We even lived in Lago Patria where they all used to live and get crazy at the Castle, Beachcomber, and Emilia Hotel. I could use a mozzarella ball with some prosciutto right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Sgt M I was referring to was Sgt Aldo Martusciello. He was my Plt Sgt in 1st Plt when I got there in Oct '91. He left in '92, said he was going to be an instructor at the FLEETC training centre in Brunswick Ga. We never heard from him after he left.

I don't remember a Mancuso when I was there.

I REMEBER WHEN WE AL TRIED TO BOYCOTT THE LOUNGE BECAUSE OF THE RISING PRICES AND DUPPER SAID HE WAS GOING TO CHARGE THE PLT WITH MUTING. ANYONE REMEMBER DIBBLE DOG S-1 BUUBA, I SAW CPL POOLE BACK IN 96 HE WAS AT MARFOREUR. WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO THAT PUNK CPL MIZE.

There are way too many stories about Rose!! He served in every platoon and so everyone should have a good story about him!

Duper had a good heart. He did invite the plt to his house. Man he had a nice villa. Wento over there in 99had dinner with a ladie friend there. Danilla was here name. She was 16 when i was stationed there , wow she grew up. Ran inot pino and pat out at the new capo base. That place is really built up. Greatr new irish pub downtown called the Joyce pub. I wish i knew then what i knew now. Hey remeber brito the brown noser from 1st plt. What ever happened to mike skoglund. What killed me about that place was there was 2 ranks senior lance cpl and lcpl. Guys thought they where so salty. Kills me. What ever happend to Gisa or The girl who worked in the lounge, cant remeber her name even though i got suck some face with her once. Blonde half italian. Married some marine named bart and was divorced in a short time.

You mentioned some names there that I remember, Brito the foremost. When I got to 1st Plt in Oct 91, I had to share a room with him and 2 others, Simmons (scooter) and another guy whose name I can't remember. He had a stupid little moustache and spent most of his time jerking off, literally.
Anyway, Brito tried to be buddy with me at first, and I was nice enough myself until all the other guys gave the heads up on him. After that, I avoided him like the plague. I remember the morning he left Naples for good. 1st plt was on a 96, so we were all sleeping off hangovers. Brito turns on the light as he goes out of the room for the last time and tries to say goodbye, but we were like, yeah, whatever, just turn the light out and shut the door on the way out. I never saw him again.

Anyone remember Pina, the nice Italian lady who worked in the Porthole? She really looked after 1st plt, so much that everyone called her Mom. She had a daughter named Lisa that married one of my buddies, Sarno.

I remeber the ladies of the porthole nice gals. I left there is sept 91 just missed you. Hot rod and gainey , ketteman, myer. Any contact info on those guys. I guess roldan and rod are lapd swat now. We used to sit up in the window and make fun of sgt lashaws cadence calling at guard formation. Any one heard from mcging from nyc. Anyone rememember RObin Pig from the navy , thats what the guys called her. Im not agreeing with it. They used it.

Robin was better looking than Tracy Pig but Tracy was a bedtime freak show. Robin had a great set of ta-ta's. She worked at the hospital and found every chance to come to NSA.
