Is there a way you can find a list of Marines that have gone AWOL? I have reason to believe that an old friend has not returned to his duty station.
|That's Mr. HollywoodMarine to you.|
WTF is a wall? How about you request permission to enter our hootch, and learn our lingo. It's Unauthorized Absence or UA.
You don't deserve to be adressed as "Mr". There is no need for you to be a jackass. Whether it is AWOL (Absence WithOut Leave) or Unauthorized Absence, you know what was meant and didn't have to be rude. If the person asking is not a military person, how are they to know? I think you should quit being such a jerk and treat people with a little civility. You are not setting a good example for the protectors of our country. You should be ashamed of yourself, you little arrogant grunt.
By the way.....a UA is also Urine Analysis....if you are ever hospitalized, and need to be catheterized, you better hope you don't have me as a nurse shoving the tubing through your underdeveloped *****. Perhaps making you scream like a little girl will make you think twice about insulting innocent people in order to compensate for your inferiority or feelings of inadequacy.
Wow, you told him...
If you were so bright you might have thought about how situational context plays into how terms are used. You're on a Marine board and in the Marine Corps UA means one thing. Either way the original OP already proved how dumb they were by posting a topic like this in a forum for Marines, or others, looking for Marines we served with.
Since you want to come in here and talk $h!t to a Marine why don't you tell us who you are and why you think we should give a $h!t what you have to say.
Is "elo" a$$ in some other language?
A better question is "if a person is not military" why are they bad-mouthing a Marine? An evern better question would be, "why do they think they have the right?"
I'm not buying for one minute that you are a Marine, so why the Marine Corps in your profile?
You be WHO? Azzhat I'm thinking..............................
Wow, candyelo is an Internet tough guy. Zhitt, I am all scared now.
I guess candyelo has gone AWOL.
VMA-231 The Ace of Spades Squadron since 1919.
This guy must have a Awol and Pi$$ test experienced person. I'm sure you are know this but who in the Corps refers to UA as AWOL?
Another one post wonder. Come back. We'll be nice next time
sorry guys but back in the day we used to use both pretty much interchangeably. I know I was UA once got my butt chewed out and another time Top told me I was to escort a prisoner who was AWOL. Same crime just a differance in time and excuse. After 30 days of AWOL you were a deserter, had you gear packed and ready to ship you to the brig on return.
When was that? When I came in, 1995, we were told that Marines refer to it as UA and only UA.
Same here. I joined in 1994 and all I heard was UA. AWOL only mentioned during boot camp, in class.
That was in the late 50's thru the 70s at least
What are you going to do if you find out he is AWOL? Many go AWOL due to mental health issues that are not being addressed - and are too afraid to go back. Refer this friend to GI Rights - and they will help him with whatever needs he has...

The Army goes AWOL. Marines are UA, then AWOL after 30 days. UA can be anything from late to formation to "Hmmmm I think i'll stay in California at the beach for 29 days. They always told us if your going to be UA you might as well stay gone for 29 days cause it will be the same punishment. It was for me when I spent 29 days over my allotted leave in Callie.
